1. What do you believe?
I believe in God for several reasons. Please read this, I’m not tiring to convert anyone just explain my faith and defend it.
One is science and what we Christians call creation. I find it hard to believe with all the science and everything we know about ourselves our bodies and our earth that everything happened by chance, by the random effects of evolution and survival of the fittest. Scientists have found many pieces of evidence including the fact that there is not enough genetic diversity in the world for the earth to be as old as it would take for humans to evolve to what they are. I believe in evolution however I also believe in creation. I see how various animals and other creatures have evolved but I believe the earth was created and evolution continued in animals afterwards. Humans did not evolve.
Another is the true message of Christ. As Christians we believe we are sinners and are forgiven. Not because we deserve God’s grace, just because he loves us.
I say true message because so many people try and change or twist or make their own spin off what the bible says. I take some issue with the Catholic Church on this stand because they interpret the bible a great deal and add to it what is called “tradition”. Tradition isn’t in the bible.
Finally someone made the good point that Christ cannot be confused with Christians. We can’t judge the message of Christ by his followers because part of what Christians believe and know is that we are sinners. We are bad representatives for our faith because we are only human. Condemning a religion for the past transgressions of some of its fanatics is like condemning Germans for the Nazi party. No one does that.

What do you I believe?
ITs hard to believe when everyone has lied to you or has forced faith upon your head. When we grow up, faith begins to twirl around everyones mind to some degree and giving views upon where we need to place our belief. I believe there is something there, something about life that we all don't know, maybe we shouldn't know or we just can't comprehend unless we've gone through the ability of the belief. I don't believe in following something that someone tells me to, I want to have my own ideas and have my own idea and not someone to tell me that I need to believe in god or I go to hell. If I'm pressured into something that I don't understand, I don't think they are true to what their intentions are. We are individuals and we all have views, I believe that we all have faith, just not for god or for religion.

Not sure what to say .......
Lets do it like that , I tell u what I don't believe . I don't believe in any good or goddess . I don't believe there is a higher power who created mankind ( at least not intentional) . If there would be any God I had to hate him anyway for this filthy creation he calls a world or life , so the only excuse for him would be , not to exist. I dont belive there is anybody who listens to our prayers ( except the one whos praying) nobody that cares if and how we die . Carma sucks and heaven is a lie .
Religion is just a tool to controll people , to gain power and money out of fear.
Believe is always born out of fear , fear of the unknow , fear of what comes after death ,fear of something we cant controll. So it is easyer to believe ther could be somebody like a god , which we could possibly manipulate with prayers , then there is a situation that leaves us totally helpless, that we cant controll .
Jesus , I cant say if he has ever existed. However , he is just a religious commercial gag for christianity.
What I believe is , you aint get nothing for free in this life , you have to take it yourself , nothing comes in prayer gift wrap .Why should god care for me, if he dont care shit that there are millions getting killed every day !?!!
I believe we are alone , we live alone , and each of us dies alone..........
I don't believe , and I don't hope ......

interesting piece of work there, i like what you have done very much....
what do I believe... thats a hard one... I'm not sure what to say...
I believe that people need to open their eyes, and see what is reality... and see the more complex side of life (maybe question what they percieve as reality), that takes some serious thought, but is also what is necessary in order to wipe out so many stupid problems that the human race has created for its self...

I'm gonna be honest and say that I'm not quite sure what I think of this piece. But I do think that it rocks that it means something to you. That's what art is suppose to do, it's meant to be an expression of emotion that maybe you couldn't get out any other way.
As to the question:
I'm kinda going through what you could call a "religious crisis" I suppose. I'm not sure what I believe. I was raised Methodist, my father was even a preacher for the first half of my life. I am a member of my church (though I'm at a college 3 hrs from it, so I wouldn't call myself an active member) and I tried to be the "good little christian" type, even did that whole "asking Christ into your heart" thing... but nothing happened. So, I felt rejected, and have since looked into other religions... and endless search for something worth believing in. I'm still searching.
I believe in God, but I don't believe that "He" is the only "all powerful being." I don't know. Like I said, still searching.

Christ is just a metaphor, a symbol for what we would call "the right thing", "Love" or "Truth". It doesn't matter if you call it christ, if you call it buddha or "hrrrabflokrrr". If its okay for you then build a little doll out of 20 dollar bills, it doesn't matter.
Nearly everyone needs something that helps him carrying the weight of not beeing able to justify his own weakness and his mistakes towards other people, its completely allright, you know why? cause its the base of what we call society. It's why religion is so powerful, and why everyone believes in some celestial power. Because people aren't able to deal with life and to deal with their own failures if they cannot imagine a god which is perfect and which will guide them.
The rest is just religion. Some people who were malevolent enough to use this "god" to maipulate others started religion one day maybe, or the big, dumb mass started to pray to someone who was smarter than them because they were terriefied by the idea that their "god" couldn't communicate with them.
And by this, Christ becomes Christianism. A shelter for the human weakness becomes the control over the mindlessness.

Thats why I believe in myself, in my own gods. My belief will never be used by others to control me.
Sadly I'm rather dissapointed by myself and my situation, so lets say for teh time now, I don't have any god.

my religious confession is christian protestant, but i dont belive in god, jesus, satan or smth like that coz i hate the idea that one person , a power or what god is for every people, is everwhere an with all of us. i dont need to pray to somebody to request forgiveness or help. i do what i can with my energy. but i even think that people like me who believe in nothing are soulless, humans need a higher thing where they can hold on. (sry for my bad english).
The work is great, like the way of shouting!

Brilliant! I can truly relate to the comments on Christians, not to bash or anything, but I went to a Catholic School for eight years and between the beatings from the nuns and the sex scandals from the priests, it is difficult for one to beleive the messege of love that they preach. My adopted father used to be a Capuchin Monk, and was a Catholic priest for twenty years. He has since turned away from the church for reasons he will not share.
I myself am a pagan, (or "heathen" as my dad calls it), but religion fascinates me. I do beleive in Christ, that he was an amazing man who truly embodied all that is good. But I don't share the Christian beleif.
Excellent work!

Heathens are far more than those who believe in GODS. They are those that rape children or murder the innocent. Pagens just have a different view on "GODS". Funny I was raised as a Wiccan and my daughter was born on Samhain exactly 3 years after I saw Danzig (on halloween) with the band Samhain. Irony is so fun to chuckle at.

ahh, another grand romantic! "all you need is love" and so on.
but you are right in my opinion, for what else do we know but what we feel? we cant truly determine the world, we have only perceptions filtered thru our biases.

great picture!!! makes me think of the people who call me a satanist or a goth when I'm not , or they tell me I worship satan while i don't even believe in god and therefore not believe in satan , most goths and satanists forget that aswell you need to believe in god when you believe in satan.
Forum Question:
What do you believe?
I'm a wiccan so i believe in the god and goddes and offcourse Mother Earth who is dear to most of us I guess , the god and goddes have many names , you can choose to name them however you want , I prefer the egyptian gods or the ones of the old paganists and tribes or the gods from the mythologie of norway
(wow I talk much )
