Description The Porsche 934 had a top speed of 190 mph, produced 550 HP under racing boost settings, and went from 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. It was eventually replaced by the GT2.

This is the car of my dreams, a car with absolutely no traction anything, no ABS, no cupholders, no A/C, no driver assistance whatsoever and only two speeds: really fast and GTFOOTW*. A lean mean turbocharged suicide machine, this is one of the fastest bug killing devices out there.

It might be a perk of my premium membership.  I click, + Add Media and all sorts of options appear in a pop-up window to the right of the page.

Unfortunately none that are worthy of posting. There are a few good ones on though, just search 935 in photo

Nope. Not even with a burlap car cover could it be mistaken for a sleeper.

As much as I'd love one of these, I'm afraid the "no cupholders" thing is a deal breaker.

I was told by a friend that German law prohibits drinking, eating, etc while driving, and that's why there typically aren't any cup holders in German made cars; these are added to export models destined for the US. Porsche resisted the idea for years, and in the late 90ies there were no less than 12 different manufacturers of "Porsche beverage holders," although I seem to remember the 928 did have them as an option on the automatic transmission models. The attitude at Porsche AG was that people driving sports cars shouldn't be distracted by food or beverages. Penny [link] doesn't have them either, but she's an '83.

Damn. I can't imagine not having a cupholder, especially not on a long road trip.

That's why there are so many aftermarket versions. This conversation actually promoted me to order a Fischer cup holder for the 911, so thanks for the encouragement.

Not sure, but I have the Exoto version of it, and I believe AutoArt has also produced a version. I actually have two of the same model, one in Vasek Polak Racing trim, and the second is in Standox paint because under the right light it has a certain resemblance to Penny Penny gets stored in a remote location over the winter, the model is a reminder.

Cool. It was a 935 I was thinking of >>[link]

But, they did do a 934 apparently>>>>[link]
Looks identical to the 935 if you ask me.. I might even have the white one somewhere. Not in very good condition but I seem to remember getting it off ebay with some other cars..

The first one is actually a 934. The 935 had a slant nose (and I think was the basis for the Kremer K3. This is the model I have: [link]
I bought it about 9 or 10 years ago because it was the closest I could find to a model of Tia (no one makes a model of a Chalon) and the Chalon is based on the design of the 935. From nose on the effect is pretty close.

That is one awesome model mate. Just bookmarked that site. I'm going to be spending some time on there.. lol Loved the 911 that came up on the home page not to mention the classic f1 cars. Great detail.. Much better than some of the Maisto stuff I have.. Thanks for sharing that..

When I first got it, my Friend Mark and I spent 1/2 hour trying to find faults with it. Mark noticed that the short axles do not come out of the centre of the mold rings on the transaxle, and we thought we had found a bug. A quick consultation of "Excellence was Expected" and we realized that the model was right. This picture shows a later transaxle [link] with the connection centred, I haven't seen another picture besides the one in "Excellence" that shows the early transaxle, which tells me that they really did their homework before producing this model.
My budget only allows me to buy one every couple of years (I drive an old 911, tires and Mobil 1 are a major recurring expense!) but the quality of some of their models is absolutely astounding. I have the 917/30 in Audi/Sunoco trim, and it is breathtaking, truly museum quality.

I agree they are so realistic, just from the images. Say you don't want to swap that 911 for my Benz do you? lol Always been a fan of the old 911.. I don't think I could have one of those models here though. My nephew is into cars just as much as me and he has a habit of pulling bits off the cheaper ones I have and trying to fix them. He's only 2! Always wants to go out on my car, no one elses.. I worry for my model collection daily..lol

My son is 2 1/2 and he loves the Porsche, it stays in the garage and he only sees it when it comes out, but he is always manic when it does. We also have a couple of Benzes, my wife's 1984 300SD and her 1973 450SL which is stored pending finding a new back end for it (someone rear ended her on the highway when she braked and he didn't )

Shame about the SL, some people just don't pay attention when driving.. Good cars the older Benzes.

It will see the road again, the issue is finding the right parts. NOS bumper for the '73 is US$ 3500.00, for a '74 and on they're less than a third of that.

Wow, well I know there are a few breakers in the U.K for Mercedes but whether or not they would have anything to suit your model I'm not sure. Specially if yours is US spec, I dare say they would differ somewhat. That's if you had to get a used part. Hate to say it but have you tried EBAY yet? Seen quite a lot of parts on there for Mercedes in general..

914four In reply to Benzdude [2011-10-02 19:18:30 +0000 UTC]

We have had a few potentials, but after seeing the first two in person I don't really trust eBay for what we need. We have a fellow in Pennsylvania that my wife has been in touch with and he has a rolling chassis to sell, he seems the most likely candidate at this time.

Well my friend best of luck to you with that. Know what you mean about Ebay, met my fair share of crooks on there myself in the past..

914four In reply to Benzdude [2011-10-03 01:23:06 +0000 UTC]

The first gentleman we talked didn't seem like a crook, he just didn't realize how far gone his car was. The second was a newer car, it had the 5mph impact bumpers and holes inside the spare tire well. If you're going to cut a car in half, I think you owe it to yourself to find two good halves

Big job and has to be done correctly.. I used to restore Triumph Stags years ago, so I know what it's like to get a classic right..

As I mentioned somewhere, money not being a consideration, this is the car of my dreams. I would choose this over any other Porsche (with perhaps the exception of a real 916 or a 917K) and certainly any Ferrari or Lambo ever made.
