It's important in our TECHNOID life to move our asses out in the nature and enjoy our planet

I like that too, but with my big cars I don't drive into the nature very often, my environmental conscience says NO. So this year I'm selling my Volvo S70 T-5 and my '82 Trans Am and I'm going to buy a very little car with max. ~ 125 HP. Even that is overpowered but I can't stop beeing a car freak in one day.

Why I make that? I can'T describe, but making a nature picture gives me more inner satisfaction than all other pictures. Even my latest car pics from today, just made in 5 minutes, not really motivated.

Or I'm just getting old and like nature more than the rest

Well, I live in a rather remote area of Ottawa, so I bought a Jetta TDI. Since most of my driving is highway, and I can usually avoid traffic, it's a greener alternative to a hybrid, which has a much larger initial carbon footprint, and the Jetta has a smaller disposal footprint in the end. I have my '77 Ford pickup because I need a truck to haul salt for our water purification system, earth and fertilizer for our garden, and occasionally gravel, sand and other things for various tasks. I could drive this truck for about 15 years with the actual yearly mileage I do with it before equaling the carbon footprint of manufacturing a new truck (it has a more fuel efficient 302ci than the original 396 though). Then there's the 911. That's an '83, and there really isn't much excuse for it except that it lengthens my lifespan by reducing stress levels. So for Penny, I plant trees. I planted 50 small trees two years ago, and I'm planning on another 50 this year. I can support getting a smaller vehicle for your everyday needs, but to get rid of a car that is your pride and joy that does little mileage every year, well, I'd think about that seriously. I do have to admit that this type of photo does feel great though.

You can't only have work trucks, I thought about a Boxster (weak version I think 210 HP) but then I have too much other costs too so that is luxus that I don'T need.

I have read about the footprints, someone wrote that it is better for nature to drive a Hummer H2 than a Prius Hybrid (overall view). The TDIs are very good, and for long distances perfect, if you drive short distances and city only than you get in troubles (injection, ....).

I drive ~ 1500 miles/year with my Trans Am so I can ignore what he drinks and all.... It's same here, for the stress level. Problem is that I don't drive to Volvo a lot (last year 4500 miles) so now I only see parking and service costs. And I changed. Now I don't need a strong or special car, and I don't like car meetings, no need to show my cars to strangers

With the money I can save when I sell my cars and buy a little car I can drive more and explore austria

I guess that makes sense. I just get the feeling that you might regret parting with the Firebird, particularly due to it's rarity in Europe. The thing about the Hummer vs the Prius was an exaggeration, but based on a lot of truths. It was written at a time when no recycling facilities existed for the Prius batteries, and based on already owning the Hummer. The TDI fits my driving patterns well (I have been averaging 20,000km a year on it) and is greener than a Prius for highway driving; if I lived downtown I might have gone the other way, although a friend of mine has a Smart ForTwo and gets better mileage than a Prius so I would probably look into something along those lines too. The Volvo, if you aren't attached to it emotionally and don't need the space, could probably do some good for another owner

20.000km is okay, I made 35.000km with my Celica 1.6 in my younger days and now overall under 10.000km, I bought the Volvo when I was on the country, now in the center of vienna where I have to pay for parking I start to think. I love the Volvo (the quality is epic and the 5 cyl. sound is amazing, fuelage is good and it is fully equiped....) but insurance costs are horrible (more HP more cash hahaha) so now I'm searching for a car that has 125 HP, and I found it: Suzuki Swift Sport. Do you know Suzuki in america?

For space I have a Ford Transit too

Yes, I had a friend who had a tiny yellow Suzuki 4x4 in Montreal in the 1980ies. In the summer he used to bring it up to the fourth floor in the freight elevator and park it in the hall so he didn't have to put the top up
When I worked for HP in the 1990ies, I often did between 50 and 60,000km a year (in Ford Taurus, the HP standard), but modern technology and web conferencing makes that a thing of the past. Clients still prefer to have meetings in person I find, but the details and such can be worked out via Visio and a phone call in most cases.

60.000km is ... WOAH

If I'm lucky then I can get this car [link]

I made pictures this weekend, very good handling (go-cart) and really really funny, that'S what I miss in my actual fleet

People often forget how BIG Canada is. It is shorter to fly to the UK from St-Johns, Newfoundland than it is to fly to Toronto, and Toronto isn't even half way across the country (about 3000km vs about 7400km driving distance St-Johns --> Vancouver, BC).
The Japanese GTI eh? Sounds like a lot of fun
