I love this drawing; I definitely ship Baldr and Hel.
I don't know why, but this picture makes me think of Baldr frolicking around for Baldr's brows. Then he goes up to the queen once he's finished, puts said flowers into Hel's hair and smiles.
Hel doesn't know what to do, but I bet she's definitely flattered by it. XD

You're most certainly welcome! <3
Baldr is the beam of light (literally) that Hel needs in her "half-life". Reminds me of Hades and Persephone, just Norse and gender-swapped. XD

Kind of Rule 63 Persephone and Hades with minus several degrees

It would be quite interesting with the female character as the dark, brooding one for once. ^^

Balder was married to Nanna and she went with him in death due to her broken heart. I know a lot of legends say she fell in love with Diggy but in my story she falls in love with Hod they are preordained by the Norns to be a couple. They are very cute together.

Thanks! ^^
In Madsens comic Höder (Hod) and Nanna also become a couple. In his version Nanna is one of the Valkyries. Balder is never really interested in her, but Höder thinks so, which eventually leads to him killing Balder by accident with the mistletoe.

I thought I was the only one who liked the thought of them as a couple! This makes me so happy!

She is clearly feeling awkward. In a good way.

She's not used to get that kind of attention.

"Balladen om Balder" is a pun.
It means the "Ballad of Baldur", but also "The Trouble of/about/with Baldur".
Not sure what the swedish word is, sorry.

Yeah, I've read that the title has a double meaning in Danish that was totally lost in the Swedish translation, because "ballad" means just... "ballad" in Swedish.

Someone should make a comic about this!
(Madsen's comic actually isn't so much about Balder and Hel. Their pairing is mostly just a twist in the end.)
