Based in part of the artwork of the King of the Wild Hunt, as shown in the game's flashback sequences drawn by Jakub Rebelka. Wasn't so much going for style emulation but to use one of my favorite depictions of The Wild Hunt from the Witcher series for a shameless ponification.
Seriously, go play The Witcher.
