Fuck, where are my keys? Honey, do you know where my keys are? Let me check in the fridge real quick, go look under the bed.

Why do people check in the fridge or freezer when they lose their keys? Because they might fucking be in there!
Just an idea I had on a spur of the moment.

Very nice vision. It's an interesting concept, the lost keys. People deal with loss, but I've never seen someone deal with such a trivial (in comparison) form of it.
I don't think I've ever seen anything like this around before. Five stars for originality.
As for technique, the lack of colour really adds to the picture. The focus being on the keys, and the shot actually being close to the ground rather than from above is to me what makes this artistic. I especially love the angle -- too often you see a shot that could be made so much better just by changing the angle from which the photo was taken.
And last but certainly not least, impact. Again like I said above this picture gives you the sense of something lost...but it also makes you feel like it's found. It's kinda like a secret between the photographer and whoever lost the keys.

Overall, very nice job. It's simple but it's good.

This is perhaps one of the most creative photography subjects I've ever seen. Most subjects might be of nature, showcasing natural beauty and delicacy, while others are more primarily focused on a variety of artistically appealing areas such as sports. But who would've thought to take a day-to-day problem, mix in a little compositional miracle whip, and create an extraordinary photo?

Indeed, I would consider this the prime of all humor relating to daily activities. Every single 16+ year old who can drive can quite easily and knowingly relate to this concept! Ironically, the very thing you need to drive on the road is sitting quite obviously on it.

What I think could help the photo is to have more highlights set on the keys. In fact, I can hardly tell that 1) the dA keychain is there, and 2) that they are even keys at all! However possible, I would suggest brightening the keys quite a bit, to render a more obvious attraction towards them, as well as more contrast between them and the road they so tauntingly lay on.

One last thing that could perhaps add to the irony (albeit take away from the obvious exposure of the keys) would be to have the keys sitting very near and/or underneath a car, the latter of which could be barely coming into frame on the right side. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="19" height="19" alt="" title="Shrug" />

Overall, I love the idea and I think you've done a splendid job conveying the twisted humor of a frustrating where-the-hell-are-those-damned-keys situation.

Better! I like that you've left some of the blues and reds, ever so slightly, to draw attention.

Thanks for the critique! Yeah, I was a bit worried the keys might not grab your attention enough, I could tinker with that a bit when I revisit the postprocessing.

I think having them in the middle of the road, where you're not likely to find them, better contributes to the idea I had in my mind when I took the photo, but your idea is worth consideration for a future follow-up piece.

Glad you like it.

Personally, I've never known someone who found their keys in the fridge, but when I do I'll let you know.

I like the photo.
