I feel almost no shame in saying that this design was HEAVILY inspired in ´s one. He rocks.

Raikou is a close relative of Entei, and even closer to the old and awesome Siberian tiger, they share some of their traits too.

They usually live in couples and mate with the same Raikou for the remainder of their lives. Captured Raikou tend to stress out twice every year due to it´s mating season. They usually are chemically castrated. A very territorial animal, Raikou patrols it´s turf searching for intruders, like young Raikou, or a mating partner. Believed to bring storms with them they are the most feared out of the three, due to very stupid reasons. Animals do not control weather. Some researchers agree that Raikou should have never been a tamed animal due to them being so territorial, as this tends to make them more agressive and unreliable in battle.

Raikou have striped bodies and manes, that are the same color when they´re born, and turn purpleish with time, due to exposure to many electrical currents. They usually chew on high voltage cables, causing huge blackouts. There have been reports of Raikou wandering city streets at night, thankfully there have been no casualties reported due to this situations. Not so much with capture-battles, where they have a whopping 10-1 capture ratio. Raikou out run the old Cheetahs and can run up to 110 km/h for a long time, they have lightning speed reflexes and a really good eyesight. They also use their whiskers to feel for minuscule bio-electrical currents for hunting. Theere are some videos in the web of Raikou hunting and killing wild Rhyhorn, which is an impossible feat for almost any other animal. Where Raikou succed are its almost 50cm long canines and the strongest bite in the Pokemon kingdom. They can crush the Rhyhorn´s thick rock-hide, and if as if that wasn´t enough, they als deliver a fatal electric current through those sharp teeth. Killing it´s prey almost instantly.

It has now been forbiden to use Raikou in normal Pokemon battles, as they have been seen killing poor Pikachu, and the likes of anything smaller than them. One is allowed to use them in higher level Gym-battles, although one must always warn the Gym leader, ruining the surprise factor. So no one ever uses them.

Their blue tails are just for show for mating purposes, they wave them up in the air and create electrical arcs between its tail and mane, they also use the spikes on their tails to fend of attacks from behind in mating battles.

They hate Entei with a passion, and can battle them for hours when their Turfs intertwine.

Mating rituals involve blood, and a lot of roaring, as you can see here.
