When I do wings, I just kind of draw one outline, then build on to that. Small feathers first, then build out until it looks just right. And not all wings have to be complex! Just start small and keep working until you reach a point where you're comfortable.

I'm sure you're doing just fine! Mine aren't as great as I'd like them to be. In fact, this sketch is probably one of my least favourite wing pictures in my gallery. ^^* Thank you, though!

I know what you mean about the being hard on yourself. ^^* I do the same thing. Just keep working! Never give up. That's my problem. That's why I'm so behind. ^^* I'm only really artistically active about.. a quarter of the year maybe. Maybe a third. So there's not a lot of time for growth. Haha. You'll surpass me in no time!

Wow, thanks! :3 I think that originally, I drew this for the sake of trying the upward tilted face staring down. (I'm still shy about drawing it because I really don't think I can pull it off sufficiently.) And the wings, of course.

I'm glad you like it! My favourite part is probably how the face turned out too. ^^* I'm glad my efforts weren't in vain!

I love doing wings. They're so elegant and just.. I don't know, they steal your breath away so easily. Sometimes, I'm afraid of overusing them, but sometimes, I just can't help it.

Hey, now. I haven't seen any wings from you! So I can't judge. Heh.

Buuuut the trick to wings is not uniformity. When the feathers are uniform, the wings look awful. And it turns out looking more like a pinecone. :3 But you see how there are smaller feathers near the base and larger ones farther out? That's how wings actually look in real life. It's all about taking what is natural and turning it into your own creation. It's actually very, very easy to do wings. Lots of lines. Just keep adding more and more and more (and if you want, style it a bit) until you think it looks right.

Yeah, sure thing! It's one of those things where you look at it and go, "Well.. that can't be THAT hard!" But then, you go and do it and you're like, "T___T This wasn't what I expected!" You'll get it.

Thank you! Yeah, that's the blessing of using a tablet. I realised that up until recently, my lineart was very, very sketchy. So I draw on the tablet every so often just for some clean lineart. Though, I have gotten the guts lately to ink through traditional means, but doing tablet lineart is just.. so much fun sometimes.
