Looks rather similar to some artwork waaaaay back from Invasion block. The art was in a magazine, but never got used for any cards. Interesting concept on what the Lord of the Wastes may look like.

Thanks for your interest. I actually used that concept art, as well as some clip art from one of the Invasion block novels (Apocalypse, I believe), for inspiration. If I'm not mistaken, I think both of those drawings were done by Mark Tedin.

I believe so. Tedin's style is unmistakable. I'd dare say he is my favorite of the artists doing work for the game. I'm still awed by the fact that Phyrexian Colossus's artwork is acrylic gouche and marker of all things...

I'd have to agree with you. His style has (for lack of a better term) a very organic feel to it, in the sense that if they had pysical properties, the subjects of his works would be very fleshy-feeling, especially in his older pieces.

But yes, very organic. There are many other artists I enjoy, but Tedin is the top of my list. ^__^
