Description About time for a horse photo?

This is Tammy, a daughter on the ranch, taking stock of the cattle herd we drove.

Edit: I get points for this photo being taken on horseback.

North of Montana... Alberta?

I helped drive cattle a number of times in Southern BC... Kamloops area... Worked in the woods there and had a number of Cowboy friends who needed help from time to time and it was a lot of fun ( & Work )....

Great shot!!!

Yes, Alberta. A little town called Mountainview to be exact.

Aw, I wish I could do it for a living, lol, but alas, I'm no cowgirl. One of the cowboys I drove with last summer worked in Kamloops as well. He said it was amazingly fun but only did it because of that - the pay was awful. And he's brilliant at what he does.

Thanks!

Alberta is a Great Province... Spent time in Rockies, Calgary, Rocky Mountain House, and Edmondton.... Now there is a BIG City!!!

Truly Love the North Country!!!

It was a beautiful landscape. Unfortunately that didn't boast the amazing views; it was at the top of a great hill.

Thanks.

Yeah, you definitely get points for shooting this on horseback. I would be focusing too hard on not falling off to take any kinda pictures. lol Then again I've never ridden a horse so... yeah.

Anyways, great shot! It's very crisp and clean and the colors look amazing! Excellent job my friend!

I've always wanted to try horseback riding. My friend used to have a horse and she took riding lessons so she probably could have showed me how but I always chickened out. That was a looong time ago though. If the opportunity arose today I would definitely give it a try!

I'd recommend trying Western first, lol, you feel much more secure on the saddle. English is more flat...I often wonder if there's a point to its existance.

A bosal? Enlighten me, oh master. ;]

xshatteredtear In reply to Aedan [2005-08-01 05:57:46 +0000 UTC]

The bridle she's using. Its called a bosal hackamore and it works on pressure points on the horse's nose, chin and face, instead of having a bit that may pinch and be uncomfortable. According to Pony Club its the oldest form of horse control.

Aedan In reply to xshatteredtear [2005-08-01 18:11:06 +0000 UTC]

Oh cool! I remember she was testing out a new bridle on one of her horses (not that one) and I think it may have been the same one...? The horse didn't seem to like it too much on her first go, lol.
