Coloured sketch for of his character, Serthal. Granted, I'd pretty much thought I lost my mojo for European dragons, and even still, I may have. I honestly only got lucky willing myself to draw this lol. This guy has two wings, just to emphasize, I had to remove one, else it'd have obscured his physique.... not fun. :lThat said, I had a talk with him about his character, and followed his step-by-step instructions of how he'd look, and this is the final product. I hope you like it, Rurik! Off the record, he really DOES look great when emaciated, not sure why. xD
Now back to other overdue shtuff. >_>

But ye, Serthal here came out so good~ ;A; I love the amount of detail you've put into his design and body-typing overall, with your anatomy it looks amazingly detailed. I especially like the feets~ ;v; Wonderful pawpats, they look quite feline~ c:
The collar came out really well too, and the fire markings are so well done~ ;; They look a lot like you'd expect tattoo-markings to look, they're stylized nicely without being too over the top. It's amazing overall, especially considering the lack of interest in westerning at the moment. ;v;
Generally, so long as you're doing the art you want it's alright to look motivation for certain kinds of it~ ;v; just add noodles

Considering you went through every detail with durum, you could techniqually consider this your first commission, because that's pretty much what you'd do if you took them. This is brilliantly made and I just love the lanky figure. To be honest, I have such a soft spot for boney looking dragons... I don't know why but I do. As ever I love your dedication to the scales. You don't give yourself enough credit.

As I said in my upload, I am so glad I met you. No one else would have taken the time to do this without wanting to kill me. Or at least, not as much. It's why I stalled so long on some of my comments ahaha. I really hate correcting stuff but it lead to what I had a meltdown kek.
But yes, I love how I can see Serthal again. Not that I hate the old designs (I actually love the pictures still) but you get my point. This is what I designed. And it's so nice to go back to the roots. I'm probs gonna have to add/rewrite a few scenes now but I am totally okay with doing that now.
You are quite right tho; There is an elegance in this withered state. Like, you can still see what he used to be like through the decay. He's a shadow of what he used to be, but he is still the same person physically. And this reflects that.
I'm gonna repay you for this. I know I probably made you tug at your hair but thank you again for all of this. I just gotta figure out how. And when I do, you will know ;3

On the contrary... you never once made me tug at my hair. xD You may have been thinking you did. My patience only frayed to the smallest degrees at times, but you were very direct with what you wanted, and I was eager to be the first to display Serthal in the likeness you intended, and readily waited for the next instructions itching to perfect this by your design. (Sorry that sounds so... pious lol) Because I knew what this meant to you, the value Serthal holds to you on such a profound level as your little lost child, but also how it must have been killing you inside with all these frustrations of him looking more and more different, more foreign no matter how many times you emphasized the changes that needed to be made (Not to say I don't like the other designs, they all look great too!), and I felt compelled to put an end to that so for once, you could smile knowing you got to see your OC in his full glory, as you intended, and you alone. So I guess in a way.... I wanted to be the surrogate hand that drew as you envisioned. :3 I know style-wise that's not the case because as you said, he looks so foreign in my style, but you catch my drift lol
I'm simply ecstatic to see that looking at your baby under a justified light has given back some of the inspiration you lost. Hopefully now that you have a solid reference to go by, you'll find yourself inspired on a whole new level.
