Description Myoko-Class || Heavy Cruiser

With the first ships launching in 2193, the Myoko-Class was created in response to the larger warships of the first aggressor, the Great Garmillas Empire. Drawing upon lessons learned from prior engagements, she boasted a large amount of 256mm positron main batteries, as well as a large missile array and relatively heavy anti-aircraft defenses. Additionally, she had an advanced targeting suite to assist in the guidance and aiming of her weapons.

Although they fared much better in battles against the Garmillas empire than their predecessor, the Murasame-Class Light Cruisers, they did not meet the expectations set forth. As a result, many Myoko's were lost as the years went on, with not many being made to replace them. By 2197, they had but become obsolete in weaponry. Because of which, they underwent a refit, having a larger turret in order to direct more power and energy into each shot, as well as more missiles to help saturate enemy point defense and engage in anti-aircraft combat. Their targeting suites were also reinforced. But most importantly, a large caliber spinal shock cannon was mounted into the bow, boosting lethality.

Unfortunately, it was in vain, as by 2199 most of the original 30 Myoko's had been lost to combat. What little remained formed up the absolute Earth defense line, a perimeter just forward of the planet's Roche limit. When the Space Battleship Yamato, Japanese Joint Strategic Command, and a large portion of the UN fleet took off to Iscandar, all of the Myoko's joined the voyage per the orders of Chief Administrator Heikuro Todo. Only time would tell if they will go out in a blaze of glory, or wither away like the husks of their sister ships.
