"I'm all alone here" ...Or is she?!
I've been thinking about doing a small Silent Hill styled story project that explores the origins of Cynder's redemption. in between the moment where she got changed back to a child dragon there needs to be a personal inward struggle as Cynder suddenly being changed back to a child doesn't explain her inner-self also changing. So I'm thinking, what if, in convexity, Cynder fell through the portal into the very same place Malefor was imprisoned, but redeemed herself there, so that the prison would spit her back out? Since the Well of Souls is intended for blackhearted souls, it's a perfect place for such a redemption.
So I'm thinking, maybe Spyro didn't save her, and that she fell into Malefor's prison, but needed to discover how to free herself by finding the good within her, an area where Malefor failed.
In this Silent Hill inspired story, this place would be alternative mystical version of the Dragon Realms, where Cynder would encounter a small child dragon that personifies her inward self. Unfortunately I decided that Cynder should be an adult dragon only towards the end of this picture as to allow the child dragon to be the personification of her innocent self... and hence she reunites with that innocent part of her when she learns to defend this character, and then the prison spits her out for no longer being blackhearted.
I'll need to find an excuse as to why such an innocent child character is in such a prison intended for blackhearted spirits, as Cynder's redemption is through her. So I'll need to find a good explanation!
Anyways, not sure if I'll go anywhere with this project, we'll see!
