I browsed through my old deviations and realized that I used to almost exclusively draw harpies. Well i do know the reason that I don´t draw them as much, which is because wings and feathers are really time-consuming, especially with my style. However I figured it´d be nice to draw one again even if it is a speed-paint of sorts.Also it´s nice to reunite with my long forgotten dreams. Those where I am able to grow out wings and take off and soar across the skies.
I also came to the conlusion that I´m so focused on always giving 100% and using all of my skills that I barely even do sketches anymore. Everything I start has a purpose and a technique assigned to it which in the long run makes it hard to improve my basic drawing skills. Sure I`m getting pretty good at coloring techniques but I feel my basic skills are lagging behind.
So hopefully expect more sketches

Even though it does look like she's flying fast, the soft colors make this fairly peaceful to look at. To me at least.
The colors also make me think of a flying dream I actually had myself. It was quite a while ago, but I still remember some of it. ^^

Your winged pieces, as usual, are amazing. Flying and freedom is one of the best things you can dream for as well!
Personally, when I want to try new things like forms and stuff, or if I see someone else's art and it makes me wonder if I can do it, I just doodle sketches xD It's helpful to me to keep up on my sketching skills (poor as they already are) because there are always new shapes when you are going for the fantastic like mermaids and knights and bears and stuff. It's also inspirational for new ideas, too, if you'd like to give it a try, too!

I know what you mean, often enough I see a drawing from an artist who isn´t very much known but who has such a good eye for shapes and forms I find myself studying how he did that.
