Description A little Redwall picture; drew this while listening to the audiobook of Mossflower. I've read a few of them so far, and am becoming a fast fan. I never read them as a child, but I like the simple, good vs. evil plots. And the descriptions of food!

The media is Inktense pencils by Derwent; really interesting things, and you must try them sometime. They're fantastic for illustration. I'm still learning how to use them!

I'm also still learning about anatomy...I don't usually draw anthro, but thought I'd give it a few whacks. Still working on it...this is how I imagine Lady Amber the Squirrel Queen looks, before she lost her hear, haha...I just realized why I've been thinking she looks too much like an otter: her ears are rounded and not pointed. Ah well! I thought only red squirrels had the pointy ears...hmm.

Check 'em out at your local library; narrated by the author, with other voice actors for the different characters!

The only real problem I have with this is her head and neck: the neck is too long and thick, and you already figured out the eyes. But other than that, I love all the colors and detail! Its very beautiful.

Yeah; I wasn't looking at any references, and it's been too long since I saw a squirrel!

Wow, I live in an area where its almost impossible not to go walking down the street and see a squirrel go scurrying across the way. But oh well.

Right now they're all hiding because of the snow...I see them scurry along of course, but I never pat their ears much mind. Of course, I could have looked up some reference pictures...but this was a study in color blending more than anything else! I love these Inktense pencils--they're like a cross between watercolor pencils and brushable drawing ink. Crazy!
