To me this piece may signify many things. To others it may signify a thousand things also- however the only true meaning behind this work can only be known by the creator of the piece. To me it represents an inability to express one's self: communication is represented as the spit-bubble, "contained" inside her mouth. Her eyes are very lifeless, almost tired and sullen to the point where silent tears may fall behind closed doors out of frustration of the matter, represented as the faint blue paint drip down her face. Overall the painting is very lovely. I love the tones, the colors, the hair, eyebrows and especially the eyes as they are my absolute favorite element of this art work. You are very talented. Keep up the lovely work e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s… " width="15" height="15" alt="" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="391" title=" (Smile)"/>

This says something. I know it does. I can see the blue falling from around the eyes. I can see the spit dripping from her bottom lip. Everything melts together at the bottom. There is a nice complement of color and contrast. In finer details, the top of her lip looks like the top of a heart. I feel like I see a man's reflection in the bubble. The jet black hair draws the eye to her face. But even with all of these fantastic pieces of the whole, I'm unable to figure out exactly what it is this piece is trying to tell me. It feels as if she WAS crying, but isn't now. Maybe she's excreting her deepest hurts. I'm just not sure. What I do know is that it's curious. This act of blowing a spit bubble is not something you see an adult doing on a regular basis. And this alone draws the viewer in. I'm just not sure it delivers enough of a story to make us happy we came.

For what it is, it's flawlessly done. Intergrading two medium into one is something that we should all thrive for. It's very original, and the technique is very well displayed. However, it has very little impact on the viewer, unlike your other paintings where you use symbolism to display certain messages, I've always felt somewhat emotionally connected to your work. For what it is, it's perfect but I felt like it was somewhat lacking, like it was missing something, I just couldn't figure out what it was. It's interesting to look at, but that's about it. "That's just my opinion."

I love how the pale colours of her skin reflect against the pitch black of her hair. The white pen that you use to outline the break in colour, really has a much larger impact then original black outlining. although the blue drip patch on her face does contrast slightly against the pinker shades and shadows, it does compliment effectively. as far as the message is portrayed,I would say you effectively put your point across, the spit bubble is something she made herself as well as contains her mouth, very unique and inspiring. All in all a very beautiful piece.

Your work is very dramatic. You have definitely developed your own style and that's marvelous. In this particular piece, it's the detailing that captures my eye. Up close you can see your very meticulous use of colors that wouldn't normally be expected. Even the highlighting in the nose and the bubble set this piece apart. It's very definitive. However, there are a few things that I would add to this piece to take it to another level. Particularly your use of shadowing both in the hair and where her head meets her neck. The black that you used for the hair is so dramatic, and that's a good thing, but it also looks very flat. Perhaps if you added some highlights in a few places. Also, because the black in the hair, the eyelashes, and the nose is so dramatic, it might help if you darkened the shadows on the neck a little more making it slightly more realistic. Overall, this piece is very good, the techniques used set the artist apart.

I think your right about the neck, however, I feel like that other stuff was intentional.

Aaah - I saw this on tumblr and had to reblog it. You're definitely still one of my favorite artists. I can't believe how fantastic your anatomy is. Anyways, it's hard to choose but this is one of my favorites from you as of late. I love all the little detail in her hair. The bubble is a cool addition. Spices up what would just be a painting of a woman's face. Shading on the bubble is great - looks like a real bubble to me!
