Description

Devana, like a young maiden, blooming and beautiful, was a southern city in the Yar Princedom. Its streets were adorned with painted and carved mansions. Stone pavements were interspersed with green parks and small squares. In the heart of the city, on its main square, stood the majestic and imposing Grand Duke mansion with gilded weather vanes. On the outskirts of Devana, along the small streets, wooden cozy houses were nestled in greenery. The people of Devana were always joyful and sociable. Devana was considered the cultural center of the principality of Yar. Festivals and fairs were often held in the city. People from neighboring principalities would gather there to trade, have fun, and socialize.

Outside the walls of Devana, on the wide hills surrounded by ancient groves, the main celebrations took place; the Kupala festival, the spring and autumn equinoxes, and the summer and winter solstices. The Kupala festival coincided with the spring equinox, in the month of Pervotsvet. It was a special celebration, not only for humans but also for the velmeds. On this day, a large fair was held, and merchants and traders from the land of the velmeds, Dun Gor, would come here.

The city of Devana bordered the Hwanchur Mountains to the south and two rivers to the west and east. Its green meadows were caressed by the wind, and the city itself sparkled like the sun, adorned with red banners and decorations.
