You have captured the emotion. Perfectly. Every time I look in the mirror, this is what I see. I can't stop looking at this piece, every time I see it in my faves I just have to look at it. This is a really remarkable piece.

Okay you have some really provocative pieces .... I find your pieces to be about associations of different things to each other. So in looking at them, it's the way you present the elements and how they interact with each other that your strength lies ... because your pieces have several "it" factors. Some art, is all about the whole piece either being an "it" factor or it's not. But your pieces, have individual "it factors" laden within them, and that is why they are so appealing, in my opinion.
Painter looking at the painter is a perfect example of multiple associations interacting with each other, and each association standing on it's own if it needs to. Remove one of them ... the naked woman, the cigarette, and it's still great. Or leave the woman and the cigarette and remove the paint ... it's still great. Each assocation is portrayed so well, that they don't need the other ones to be beautiful .... yet all of them mixing together make it exponential in it's appeal
Like "confused" ... with those sexy feet. Each foot is poised in a sexy, appealing position. Remove one, and it still makes sense.
But in wig of smoke .... the elements don't stand alone well. For example, remove the smoke hair ... and you have a head. And that head looks very sharply and roughly cropped. It's not very fluid. The skull is sliced in a straight line, and the neck has sharp angles. By itself, it's not appealing. The texture on her skin .... is unique, but looks out of place. The idea is cool .... but fluid smoke going into a chopped head is too contradictory I think.
So this is my way, of saying .... I see your point lol
But it's not horrible. It might get first place in your mind, but not everyone else's. But therein lies the dillema.
I still say I should start a "discarded art" group lol

When I first read this I thought I have to take my time to answer you. I needed to digest your word (also disect)
Now after nearly a month I can not find any fault with your reasoning. You are an eye opener. 8)

Mmmm, Women are more interesting than men. In fact when we are at a bar women look at other women more than they look at men (Sadly).
Thank you my friend

This is true, and it's a shame, I would like to see more artwork made of men, there's a vast reserve of untapped inspiration going to waste, IMO, with all these pictures here of young women. It's as if no-one else matters. I like this picture a lot, it's such a universal feeling that's revealed by the image, of self loathing and isolation. Great work.
