Wow! I love the detail in his sweater and in the wheat. Then there is the issue of the hair and how you make the face look so real. *goes off and hides in corner until ready to try again* (I'm working on a portrait and it isn't looking anything like real skin yet. I am almost overwhelmed to try again.

Thanks for the encouragement. Yesterday afternoon, I picked up the pencils and started to work. I was impressed that it turned out. I'm not done, but I'll post a work in progress at least. Thanks again for the encouragement. I kept this window open as inspiration to keep trying.

Beautiful work! I love the hair, the nose, the mouth, the clothing... ahh! Its great. For some reason I feel like I should be seeing a tiny part of his right eye though? Maybe its just my tired brain being weird.
