Wow...someones in denial *_* lol Ugh Chi's head looks so effed up

UGH I left my papers at school so I had to try and remember what I wrote just to add the storyline to this one. Sorry if its no good.

Storyline:

"Welcome back, everyone." Komui greeted with a smile as he made his way over to the door where the exorcists stood.

"...Thank you, Komui..." Allen did his best to fake a smile at their leader however, both Allen's and the others faces showed great pain, anger, sorrow...all the bitter emotions. No matter how hard Allen forced a smile, it was very obvious to Komui is was fake. Komui sighed. Knowing that they all had been through a lot just in the two days they were on the mission, the branch head dismissed all the exorcists to discuss the mission another time when they all had regained some of their composure. However, even though dismissed, Allen and Chihiro still stood in Komui's office.

"Why don't you two have a seat, alright? I have to get get Reever and then I'll be back..." Komui led the exorcists to a couch and walked off to go find his partner. Now the room was completely silent. A few seconds passed before Allen looked over to his friend...she was still in the same state as she had been during the ride back to HQ. Chihiro just sat there, her head held down, and her entire body drained of its color as if all the life had been sucked out of her. She nearly looked like a zombie. Allen looked to the side, feeling awkward. A few more seconds passed. Allen looked back over to see Chi had not moved.

'...Damn, I gotta do something about this...I mean, she's acting as if shes the one who died instead of Kyonshi...' Allen looked to the floor, sadly before reaching over and placing a hand over one of Chihiro's. She didn't look up but Allen decided to try talking to her anyway,

"Chihiro....if you want, after Komui comes back, we can go down to the cafeteria and get some supper....does that sound good?" And just as when Lenalee had tried to talk to her in the carriage, Chihiro did not respond at all. Allen sighed and removed his hand. At hearing the sound of Komui and Reever's voices approaching, Allen looked back. The two scientists walked into the room, looking serious.

"Alright. Now that they're back, I think its time."

Allen raised a brow, "Time for what, Komui?" The branch head looked to Reever and nodded. Rummaging through his pocket, Reever pulled out the letter Kyonshi had left and handed it to Chihiro,

"Your father left this. Its important that you read it..." A few minutes passed and for a while, the others didn't know if Chihiro was reading the letter or not. But their confusion was cleared when they noticed tears fall from Chihiro's eyes onto the paper that she held in her shaking hands. Komui closed his eyes and thought back to when he read the letter,

"I have one final request of you, Komui. Please, protect my little girl."

Komui opened his eyes again and leaned down. Leaning forward, Komui took the letter and placed it on the floor. Then he took his hands with Chihiro's and smiled as gently as he could,

"Chihiro, I know this is hard for you. But your father made one request to me in that letter. And I intend to carry it out. Not just as the branch head of the science division but as Kyonshi's friend. You may continue staying here as long as you'd like. You will be given protection from any akuma just as before and you don't have to pay us." Komui clenched Chi's hands in his before going on. His expression saddened, "....Anyways, I just want you to know that even though your fathers gone...you're not alon--"

"You're wrong." Komui looked up. His hazel eyes widened in shock at what he saw. Chihiro was glaring down at him with extreme hate and misery in her eyes. The man rose and let go of her hands,

"Chihiro...?"

Chi looked up and her face darkened even more, "Father is not dead." Allen and Reever looked to each other and then back at Chihiro in shock,

"C-Chihiro--"

"YOU ARE WRONG." Chihiro stood up and clenched her hands in fists, "YOU ALL ARE WRONG!! MY FATHER IS NOT DEAD."

Komui felt another lump form in his throat, "C-Chihiro...what are you--"

"Chihiro, you saw with your own eyes that he got shot by akuma and turned to dust....That's death right there...! How can you say he isn't dead?!" Allen shouted, his body beginning to tremble all over again.

Chihiro glared again, "He is not dead. Father is still here. He's still here...!! I KNOW IT!!"

"CHI--"

"HE'S NOT DEAD!!!! HE'S NOT!!!! FATHER IS ALIVE AND WE'LL ALWAYS BE TOGETHER!!!!! FOREVER!!!! JUST LIKE HE PROMISED....!!!" Chihiro let out a blood curdling scream as she turned and ran out of Komui's office in a flash. Allen ran after her in concern, calling out her name as he chased after his friend. Reever turned to Komui in question,

"C-Chief, what do we do now??" Komui bit his lip and shook his head,

"I...I don't know...They're are some people who refuse to accept the loss of a loved one no matter what happens or what they saw. Shes despairing so much of Kyonshi's death that she's treating it as if it never happened. In her mind, she wants to believe her father is still here...and so, she screams it to make it seem real...Reever, we cannot afford to let her be alone at any moment..." Komui looked to Reever in a very stoic manner, "If we do then..."

"The Millennium Earl will appear...just like in her nightmare." Komui nodded at Reever and looked away,

"And with Chihiro being in the state she's in, she would JUMP at the opportunity to bring Kyonshi back. Whether its as an akuma or not. We simply cannot allow that to happen...we cannot allow that part of Chihiro's nightmare to become a realty!!" Komui slammed a fist on his desk as he shook with anger. Reever rubbed the back of his head, narrowing his eyes,

'...easier said than done, Chief....' Reever looked back up, "Hey, I'm gonna go see if Allen caught up with her. I'll be back in a bit." And at that, Reever rushed out of the room. Komui sighed again and sat down at his desk. The science division leader rested his head in a hand and groaned,

"Dammit....." Komui lifted up a fist, "DAMMIT!!" And again, Komui brought down his hand and slammed it on the table.

~With Chihiro who is outside HQ, at the gate~

"He's not gone. He's not. Father just pretended to die...he faked it, I know it. He pretended to die so the akuma would leave the rest of us alone. Father was always so smart and caring like that..."

Chihiro reached into her pocket and pulled out a gold locket that hung from a beautiful, silver chain. Opening the locket, Chihiro smiled painfully at the picture inside. It was a photo of her father holding her when she was two years old. She was dressed in a small, pink coat with mittens. Kyonshi was hugging her tightly and smiling happily. Tears filled Chihiro's eyes, "....Father...is still here right....?"

The girl looked around, smiling in excitement. She looked in every direction....there was no one. She was the only one outside...all by herself.....all alone....with no one there. Chihiro looked up at the orangish-red sky as a tear streamed down her cheek, ".....Father.............Father.......he--"

Chihiro stood up and looked around again. Her excited expression turned to a terrified one as she turned in every direction, searching for anything that could be her father. "...no..." Running around, the girl kept on looking everywhere there was to look. "NO...HE'S--" More tears filled the girl's eyes, "HE'S NOT HERE ANYMORE..." Chi felt herself fall backwards, "He's not anywhere..." Falling completely to the ground, Chihiro could feel as if she would die at any moment. And then, the girl felt her heart shatter into a million pieces....

"I'll never see him...ever again."

I'll be frank, that last part with Chi when she said "He's not here anymore" I got that from Fruits basket Vol 16 when Kyoko is despairing over the loss of her husband, Katsuya. That is exactly what she thinks when she goes to pick up Katsuya's things after he died...that part in FB is so sad and the quote always makes me cry that I had to add it to my story. Sorry if the endings odd.
