History:

In a time of hunger, Tawnykit was first born into a litter of three as the only she-kit. Unfortunately, the strain of birthing took a toll on her weakened mother, who soon died after making one request to her mate: her daughter would be named Tawnykit. Distraught, the kits' father honored her wish and chose the names Tawnykit, Nettlekit and 'Frostkit' for his kits, two brown tabbies and a white tom, respectively. Tawnykit by far was the most favored out of the trio; her father never ceased to spoil her, going as far as to completely neglect his sons. This strained her relationship with Nettlekit and Frostkit, but the two soon adapted and accepted their father's lack of attention as something that was normal.

After a mostly peaceful kittenhood, Tawnykit and her siblings were finally made into apprentices! Tawnypaw received fickle Cricketchaser as her mentor. He was a fine hunter, but the tom mostly taught her how to avoid injuries in battle, not how to cause them. Unsatisfied by his battle training, she received tutoring by her brother Nettlepaw, who was mentored by the fierce Stormtooth after the warrior's first apprentice had perished in an unfortunate accident while training. This improved her skills, but she always retained her instinct to avoid battle when possible.

By the next winter, Tawnypaw and her brothers were made warriors. Tawnypaw became Tawnylight, Nettlepaw became Nettlesnap, and Frostpaw became Frostfur. At first,Tawnylight was a dedicated and loyal warrior through and through, but things began to change when EmberClan's deputy died during a greencough outbreak. The obvious choice for the role, Nettlesnap's previous mentor Stormtooth became deputy. EmberClan's leader Riverstar was aging quickly in her late years, and the once kind and forgiving she-cat had become paranoid and threatened by the other clans. Stormtooth easily persuaded her into beginning battles over borders, and the clan soon began to weaken, damaging her clan-mate's opinion and trust in the elder.

A few seasons later, EmberClan was easily said to be the weakest of all four clans in the valley. So weak, in fact, that its warriors were relieved when the leader was found dead in her den; her fur was so thick and her body was so clear of blood that no cat thought to look underneath at the wound that lay there. Stormtooth became Stormstar, and promised that the Clan would soon rise back to what it was supposed to be; a Clan that was feared for its strength and prosperity. When it became clear that his intentions were murder, Tawnylight was dismayed-- unlike her own brother, she was completely opposed to his goals, and frequently refused to battle over new territory. However, as the leader grew in power and support, there was no way that she could refuse any longer. The she-cat fought poorly against both DuskClan and MapleClan-- and, inevitably, BrookClan --but in the end the three clans fell, blood on Tawnylight's paws.

Plans of a rebellion against Stormstar quickly reached Tawnylight's ears. The feline was all for it, but there was only one problem: Nettlesnap. The tom, scorned by their father, had found a new one in Stormstar. At first, it seemed as if he would fight alongside his leader rather than his kin. It was only after Frostfur was killed at the leader's own claws for treason that Nettlesnap was swayed into joining the cause. Sides were chosen, a fierce battle was fought, and the rebellion emerged victorious-- at the cost of its leader, Jaycall. Tawnylight herself then stepped up to take his role, becoming Tawnystar. Now, she struggles with keeping her lone Clan afloat.

Personality:
Tawnystar is calm, compassionate, and sturdy. She treats every cat equally, and she never turns away from helping a cat in need. However, the leader is also ambitious, making it difficult to stand in her way of her goals. She's wanted to be leader ever since she was a kit. Now that she has the position she definitely intends to keep it, enjoying her power and the idea of being thought of as a hero. Because of this, she's also dubious and decietful, not afraid to lie and trick others into believing that she always has their best interests at heart. Which, for the most part, she does. While she may frequently lie to keep up her pure appearances, her main goal is to always care for the cats under her leadership and to make sure that they'll never have to fight another battle-- but her means to achieve this remains to be questioned. Despite her caring nature, Tawnystar is rancorous; she'll never forgive Nettlesnap for blindly following Stormstar, and only made him deputy in order to control him and his actions.
