FX animation that I did for a game called Hunter Island by ZigZaGame Inc.I think it will be out soon for iOS devices.

Woah. Stop. I cannot believe you did vfx for Hunter Island - I am currently animating monsters for the sequel, Monster Island! (I've animated over 300 of them, including the most important monsters and main characters). All I knew was that you are the vfx king, so I followed you and enjoyed your work. But I can't even comprehend what a coincidence it is that you worked for Zigzagame!
Anyway, as usual this is amazing.

how are these used in-game? as a flash asset or do you convert them to png spritesheets? i imagine they take up quite a lot of resources.

Png spritesheets. These effects were done for a mobile game, so the resolution was pretty small.

Спасибо. Так и поступлю. Я просто сам делаю графику для игр, но очень простенькую и сами анимации персонажей или спецэффектов я просто делаю через флэш трансформации, а вот покадровые для меня были загадкой.
Так и поступлю, попробую еще что-нибудь из мультфильмов посмотреть вроде Аватар:Легенда о Корре и Вакфу. Вроде там есть тоже где поучится.
Буду следить за вашим творчеством!

Да как раз его пересматриваю. И уже начал подмечать для себя очень легко реализуемые эффекты и трюки в анимации. И заметил как легко скрыть шаблонность анимации. В общем Совет простой но действенный. Я просто обычно учусь по книгам и особо не задумывался об очевидном)
