Description
So what I've done here is compiled a bunch of art that was just sittin' around doing absolutely nothing! But the main thing I did here was show contrast in scenes by focusing on composition and 'color keys', as they might call them on a show or film production.I'm also preparing this for lectures and a possible class I'll be teaching in the summer in L.A., so I got some use outta this old-ass art!

Damn that's awesome ! I'm really moved by the strength, the impact and the mood of these pieces. I'd really like to see real sizes.
These really keep me drawing this way : custom brush, focusing on shapes and dynamics, blocking in lights on whatever-i'm-drawing
Yet I've still a long way to go !
By the way I wanted to ask you about trading some brushes to see how one uses the brush of the other... but I couldn't wait and turned your own painting into some custom brush !

...damnit, I wish I could just sketch something like that. I presume you do it by just starting with something basic and then running with it, without a specific plan?

...yes mate, these were unplanned things.....but all were made using the complex brush technique. It's about making brushes in photoshop, and using the shape dynamics to make the brush do crazy and unexpected things. THEN, you 'find' the image within the chaos

Heh. Unfortunately, I'm running an older version of photoshop and it doesn't really support the fancy brush stuff the new versions have. Alas!

Some great stuff as usual. I love the pieces where you combine yellow/orange with dark blue/cyan. They give the best contrast
