Beautiful, both textures and modelling. I'm having a hell, trying to learn texturing... Not my strongest aspect, it seems <.<

Yes, work with textures - an important point. Without a good structure any, even the most good model, will look insufficiently well.

Now this I like, I liked your last post 'Dante's Ride' - except it was a little too red for my tastes. Still, your work amazes me, It would take me months to do just one picture like that. Keep them coming!!!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexWild In reply to CelestriaSun [2007-02-12 09:56:47 +0000 UTC]

Many thanks for words of admiration! It very much encourages me and gives stimulus to new works.

As to speed of creation of pictures - here all depends on presence of a free time and inspiration. Sometimes I do(make) some sketches which then lay months without movement for time... For this time new ideas come, I do(make) new preparations... And when I do not know how to complete up to a final kind these last works, I address to old. So it is possible to make pair new pictures for couple of days - in fact the beginning is necessary to them much earlier.

were the thrusters done in photoshop? I've tried to get that effect in Bryce but it never comes out right...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexWild In reply to LucasDelzell [2007-02-12 10:01:58 +0000 UTC]

Bryce such to do never was able. Certainly without completion in a Photoshop the picture would be looked much less interestingly...

Wow thats awesome!! How long does something like this usually take to make?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexWild In reply to jut5star [2007-02-12 10:07:01 +0000 UTC]

How long? I seldom do work for once, usually process can is stretched for weeks, and even months. It does not mean that I every day on Π½Π΅ΡΠΊΠΎΠ»ΡŒΠΊΡƒ hours sit above them - simply time for creativity a little, therefore I am engaged in this interesting work seldom enough. If to measure by hours - probably from 3 o'clock and about several days... In the sum.

Last two works have been made during two last days

Nice ship design (as always!)... do these space scenes connect to any story or game world or are they completely on-the-spot creations?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexWild In reply to Treyos [2007-02-11 20:43:22 +0000 UTC]

Partially my pictures are created casually, following for desire to realize any idea which seen somewhere or has come to my head... Though when I complete a picture up to a final condition as a rule with it the history which has been thought up during work above it is connected. The part of such histories concerns to a cycle " Caldarian/Kaldary's chronicles" [the plot of chronicles is a little similar on "Homeworld" - wanderings non-humanoids races and its ascention to authority above a galaxy], other part - to a plot of the game project "Deep Space Saga" [Space simulator|RPG], above which I once worked also which is not realized yet... Some of my operating time under the project can be looked here .

I've been checking out that site you linked for me... are all those designs yours? I can't read a word on the page, but the ships look freakin' awesome!

Unfortunately free-hosting Narod.Ru very slow... So I am done not surprised with that fact, that you have seen nothing...

Probably one picture from other hosting will give you representation about the project in which I took part: [link]

Nice size comparison pic there. That freighter's BIG. And yeah, that other site is slow to load, but I've managed to look at a lot of them. It's all really good work! You've got a lot of talent for ship design.

fermiliar with the game 'EVE'? Just asking, since I see something I believe I've seen there.

What are the light things there? Streetlights is my guess.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

AlexWild In reply to stidged [2007-02-11 20:22:06 +0000 UTC]

I know about game EVE-online, but never in it played. Screenshots saw, the design of the ships of some ships has liked me. But I do not think that my pictures have something the general with this game... All concurrences if those are, are accident...

stidged In reply to AlexWild [2007-02-11 22:26:20 +0000 UTC]

the light thingies I was talking about look simular, therefor I asked what they are for.

In EVE a simular design is used for an 'acceleration gate' but I don't think that's what it's getting used for in your view, good work by the way (can't believe I forgot to mention I like the picture)
