The top half of this is actually the inside front I drew specifically for the printed booklet, but I thought it made a nice "prologue" of sorts. However, I didn't want to post it separately on here so I stuck it along with the actual first page.

The two characters are introduced and go off on their adventure! Neither have canon names, I just call them MonsterPony and FoxBunny. Because I am creative.

My original method for toning these pages involved thoroughly toning everything and I had actually completely toned the trees in this page until I realized I hated it and erased it all. I talked it over with my professor and he agreed to keep the tones simple until I actually have more practice (and time) to go more expansive. So there will be very limited tones on these pages, such as those for accents and some gradients for depth.

As mentioned on the cover, all these pages were done traditionally using Micron pens and sharpies on 11x17 Bristol Board. I've never done pages so big before and... I kinda liked it. It was a little difficult at first, but definitely gives more room for detail. The only thing I didn't like was it was harder to get thicker lines, which is why I ended up using Sharpies a lot. Text was also hand-drawn, which you can probably tell because it's terrible.

ALSO! The dialogue for the MonsterPony was inspired by the book Their Eyes Were Watching God which I had to read for midterms in my English class this same quarter. That dialogue was too interesting not to use.
