A: Kissing an anthropomorphic humanoid hedgehog who has the sentience and capacity to vocalize consent and could have if he were alive/conscious

Idk maybe it's just me, but it seemed like people were more freaked out by the species difference than the fact that she kissed a fucking corpse and it makes me feel like people were getting upset at the wrong thing. I'm sure there were people who were equally mad at both, but you get what I mean. The whole game was a mess, plot included.

When I was a dumb teenager, there was a period of time where I hated the idea of people shipping humans with furry characters, like with SonElise, because I saw it as bestiality. Paradoxically, people shipped ShadMaria and no one batted an eye, but SonElise was like a god-tier taboo for some reason. Then when I started browsing Tumblr (before I realized it had flaws like any other social media platform), I learned there was this thing called asexuality. Asexuals do not experience sexual attraction towards anyone; sometimes it's because sex weirds/grosses them out, like me, other times it's because they just don't feel sexual attraction. And just like being gay, being ace is not a choice. Unlike celibacy, which is an active choice to not engage in sex. Sonic and Elise could totally have a romantic relationship without bringing sex into the equation, whether they're ace or celibate or whatever. And if they really wanted kids, they could just adopt.

Also I like to believe that Sera from the OVA is the daughter of a human(oid) and a mobian so ANYWAY

In my headcanon rewrite of Sonic 06, Elise probably wouldn't even feel that way about Sonic. Nope, that honor goes to Poppy, AKA my headcanon of Sonia crossed with the abandoned Sister Sonic concept. By the time Sonic shows up in Soleanna for the festival, Poppy's already been part of the Soleanna Royal Guard for about a year. Elise happened to see her training with the other guards one day and basically said, "I want THAT ONE for my bodyguard!" And Poppy, being so ridiculously gay it's not even being funny, was more than honored to accept such a highly-regarded responsibility from the princess. (Manic might've been hired to do music for the festival. Either that or he snuck in to steal some food b/c he's sick of eating out of trash cans. Idk I'm still figuring out his route.) But yeah, Poppy stands guard while Elise waves to everyone, Eggman attacks, Poppy tries to fend him off when Sonic suddenly shows up, he kicks robot ass, then he carries Elise away to safety while Poppy (and Manic) chase after him b/c "holy shit is that my brother that I haven't seen in years running off with the princess???" and that's all I got so far. Poppy (Sonia) and Manic are there, but other than that it doesn't have anything to do with Sonic Underground, there's no magic amulets or missing mom or anything.

The two doodles on the right are just me playing around with mobian and human designs. For a while I pictured Elise as some kind of bird because of the feathers she wears, but given all the lore I already wrote about birds being connected to alien genies, she just didn't mesh well with it. So I made her a mink, the animal Silver was originally pegged as. Poppy is supposed to have kind of an undercut based on the way her quills fall, but it's a little hard to tell...

The one on the left was an attempt to draw Sonic and Elise in the classic/OVA style. Thought it'd look cute.

And the bottom doodle there is just me being a multishipper. I imagine that Sonic's entire family bloodline has a thing for princesses. And clearly gender does not discriminate against that.
