Description
I must dedicate this to ~EmeraldRhapsody (aka my current roommate). Basically, this never would have gotten past the sketch phase without her. It's been sitting in my sketchbook for like half a year - I abandoned it because I couldn't figure out where to put one of the rear legs. Then in a moment of sheer boredom last week, I threw my book at Emerald and say "Choose some unfinished thing and I'll finish it!"

And here is the result

I always pictured gryphons as royal creatures, and I love combining them with ancient Egypt (even though I believe they are technically Greek ), and I love blingin' 'em up with egyptian jewelry. Also, rather than the tradional half-eagle, half-lion, I decided to use falcon and panther for this guy instead. And the feathers were much fun

And my scanner kind of slaughtered much of the detail, especially in the face. Boo.
