The natural color scheme out here is grey and brown. Many flowers just dry up in the burning sun. The LA basin is just a desert surrounded by mountains. I don't remember the last time we had rain; maybe April? Our temperature inversions and micro climates are fascinating. We get LA weather(which is always wrong). They may have rain, but we have sun all day. I think these plants would do well up around Santa Barbara. Orange County can get very hot.
