Esper: "Yeah, you better run! Mess with Gus again and it will be more than a kick!"
Gus: "Esper? What are you doing here?"
Esper: "I don't know, one minute I'm practicing spell combinations with Lilith and the next, I got this feeling that you needed help. Luz wasn't home yet so I decided to, you know, check up on you. Though it looks like you handled things just fine without me."
Gus: "I'm not sure if I would have been able to do it without the help of Matt and Keeper of the Graveyard. You didn't have to come all the way out here though."
Esper: blushing "I know, I just... I'm glad you're okay."
Gus: "..."
Esper: "...Hmm mwah!"
Gus: "Oh! Wow, have you..."
Esper: "Had a bit of a crush on you? Uh... Yeah!"
Gus: "That's good! Cuz... I've... Always had this crush on you. Esperanza, do you want to be my girlfriend?"
Esper: "Of course I will, silly!"

I have a little joke in my brain that I do want to draw out eventually for Through the Looking Glass Ruins. Esper isn't in the episode a lot, mostly chilling with King and practicing with Lilith. But when Bria's betrayal in the episode is revealed, I like to think the episode suddenly cuts to Esper, who just stands up and looks off in the distance. Saying that she suddenly has the feeling that she needs to beat someone up. She literally sensed someone messing with Gus XD
At this point, Esper has been struggling with her own feelings towards Gus, gaining a crush on him during Escaping Expulsion while not knowing that he has a crush on her. (He's had a crush on her in Season 1 but she never realized it) Esper did not know how to handle her own emotions, since she and Gus are friends and she wouldn't want to ruin it, plus she is dealing with trying to find out who her blood parents are during this season.

I like to think that Esper does actually go to the Looking Glass Ruins (although that part wouldn't be shown) and she probably gets a kick in as Bria is leaving. Then her and Gus talk, with Esper making a hasty decision to give him a kiss on the cheek. Which leaves both her and Gus flustered, though both are happy that they're feelings were shared.

This is the episode where Gus and Esper become a couple.
(I like to think their ship name is Gusper. It sounds better than EspGus in my opinion)
