Description
No, it's no fanart of Griffith from Berserk, I swear it! XD
This is Marcangelo Celestini, said "Giotto", the future Emperor of Cymbelmine, and Ledsen's Lord. Here he is around 15 years old, and, he is still a Prince. I wanted to do this drawing a little like an official royalty portrait, which could have been made a few weeks before his father dies and he becomes Emperor. As a Prince he wears blue, and has long hair, but he will cut it after his coronation, and wear imperial red.
As for his temper, he is usually very sunny, can be mischievous, has a curious mind, and cares deeply about his people. He is also very fond of theatre; a little too much, maybe, because, the "sunny" behaviour is an act, that he performed all his life. His Court is his stage, and, every day, he puts on the shoes of the "ideal" heir. But, deep inside, he is a frightened soul. He is the last one of his bloodline, and, when he inherites the trone, people take bets to know how much time he'll stay on it, before being cast out by another dynasty.
Surprisingly, six years after that, he is still reigning. It is said that this could be explained by his own sharpness, or, the pricless advise of a cunning Counselor. Maybe, some magic could be involved, too, one does never know. After all, his Warlord is a demon; it should have taken magic to summon this one? Yet, Giotto is very much loved from his people, and, his powerful elites seem to be satisfied by him... for now! For now, because lately, some aristocrates and wealthy merchants who tried to trick the Emperor, or counterfeit his orders, seem to suffer an unexplainable end of their success, and fall so down that they never recover. It is whispered that these defeets could be linked to an impervious Warlord and/or a cunning Counselor. Who knows?
Lol! I totally messed with the proportions, in this one XD
If he looks like Griffith, it can be explained because, 1) I like the character XD, and 2), because I drew him refering to Botticelli paintings. So, his clothe's design is not really mine; I just played with patterns that I saw in those paintings.
Also, even if it could look like it, it's not magic that he is doing; the light merely comes from a touchscreen tablet, on which he is reading. (Hey ShinyKijarr! I finally used the chalk for this one! XD)
Please take note that Cymbelmine characters, lore and story belong to me. Of course, Griffith and Botticelli stuff don't. No Beherit were harmed in the making of this drawing
