Description

This is Belladonna Honoria-Severini, head of imperial spies. Ledsen, behind her, is not stalking. She has been his teacher in his first months at court, so he intends to show that he learned well by teasing her. This ends up in her emptying the whole water spray on him, a few seconds after this picture

Bella's family, the Severini are renouned for having taken in one of the last dryads of the Known World. Dryads who are, in fact, non-humans of the Kanthaari species, are aliens living in a symbiosis with trees, on which they rely for reproduction. They have extremely long lives (as long as a tree) and, this one stayed with the Severini family for a few centuries. Because of that, and despite the fact that the last dryad died, before Bella was even born, people believe there is dryad blood in the family. It is said that Bella has inherited a lot of it. That could explain her fascination for plants, especially orchids, and this way she has to age very slowly (Bella is over fifty). She plays with the idea, by desplaying her charms and beauty, using it as her weapon, draping herself in mystery. She is a strong minded woman, heiress of one of the most influent families at court, and highly honored, even if her role as master of spies is not exactly public knowledge.

One of her habits is receiving her guests in the Palace's Gardens, right in the center of a rose labyrinth, that her visitor has to cross before getting to her. (If you have an appointment with her, better make sure you have several hours in front of you!)

Ledsen is not much at ease with Bella, because she especially likes embarrassing a too serious and nerdy Warlord, who understands nothing about it.

Yet, they are allies, and have a deep mutual respect and attachment.

As for Elaak, Bella and him have agreed only once in their lives; when they measured how much repulsion they have for each-other. Bella, who doesn't know Elaak is a Sorcerer, has a visceral (and very right) feeling that something about him is quite abnormal. She tries real hard to discover what, which makes her a pretty pain in the ass to the Sorcerer, that's why he nicknamed her "Belladone".

Confinement has the side-effect of leaving me with copic markers emptying at increasing speed and no way to recharge them! This lead to a partucularly crappy backgroung in this drawing, which I tried to hide very hard (and not so successfully) by using gimp XD I'm very sorry about it, and will try to make it better after ordering some recharges online.
