Here’s my entry for BubblesLeSeaWing ’s DTA contest - Hope you like him!

The background was in a more painted style while the dragon and his little pouch had lineart. I had fun with this one ^^

Backstory: Paradise was raised on one of the outer islands in Pantala, far from Wasp’s claws or the dragons who denied the Distant Kingdoms. His father, a dark green SilkWing called Priamus, had been a harshly treated servant from Hornet Hive who’d fled to the east coast. He lived there for many years when a brightly colored RainWing came flying in on a cloudy day, exhausted and with several wounds. The RainWing, who’s name was Cotinga, he soon learned, was a strange young dragoness who often got herself lost and forgot things easily. As far as he could guess, she was flying off the coast of wherever she’d lived in the Distant Kingdoms and just lost herself in a cloud or on the endless sea. She told him she’d been flying for days, and was extremely grateful for his help. Within time, he fell for her as well, and they had one son named Paradise.

Paradise is hardly ever left alone, since he’s almost always with his mom and dad. Priamus is a gifted craftsman of several trades, and he’s the one who made Paradise’s pouch, notebook, and the one who fashions him new pencils when his old ones get too short to use. When Paradise does get a chance to be alone, he likes to draw the nature around him or sleep in the shade of his favorite tree. He fights with his dad sometimes and can often find his mother annoying when she can’t remember things about the Distant Kingdoms (a place he’s very interested in and would really really like to visit someday), but he loves his parents and he’s grateful for how much they’ve both done for him.

I know this looks a little messy and rushed, I still can’t find the charger for the pen I use... I was going to wait to start until I’d found it, but eventually I just said screw it and did the whole thing with my finger XD I’m also not very knowledgeable when it comes to lighting and such, but I like the way it turned out!

Also not sure if this is too much for a small contest, but I just really wanted to draw him like this for some reason lol
