This so freaking cool I can't even-
Alright I'm not really a professional with this or anything, nor do I draw dragons that much but I'll try and write something competent.
Originality wise, I did a quick search on deviant art and saw a whole lot of flying dragons and a whole bunch of blizzards but not a whole lot of both of those things together, so I'm gonna give you a solid three stars on that.
As for impact (sorry jumping all over the place here lol) this is absolutely stunning. I just want to stand up right now and start drawing some dragons again, since I haven't done so in a long time, and I'm sure many others felt something similar, so I'm definitely giving you a high score there. Seriously, this is incredible, you should be really proud of yourself for this.
All right now that I have ALL that out of the way, I'll start on an actual critique of the quality of the artwork itself (and I already have 175 words.... I need to be stopped {make that 184...})
Alright, first off, I really love how you kept to a black, white, and grey color scheme. Keeping a color scheme really helps display some meaning behind a piece, and this is no exception. I really wish more artists (myself included, actually) could get a hang of these sorts of things and use colors more than they do now. I also adore the wings, especially the transparency effect. It looks really nice and I don't see it done too often, so you just boosted up your originality score! (yay!) The anatomy seems to be pretty accurate, so I see you were right about using tons of reference photos, it really shows. The subtle spots all over Wing's body don't distract the eye, and instead give the picture more depth, good job on that too! The snow/background looks cool too, I like how it's clearly not the main focus of the picture (since it's not in focus.... ha ha, see what I did there. I'm so funny)
I do wish you had represented dragon scales somehow though, it would have really helped with the drawing, but at the same time it may have made the drawing look cluttered so I guess that's okay. As you said in the description, you could have done more with the shading, which would have helped with the whole picture overall, but it still looks pretty nice, so...
Fml over 400 words and it took my like, 20 minutes to write and it's probably not even that good of a critique but I tried my best so yay? I hope this was helpful in some way shape or form since I kinda just praised you the entire time.. but it's honestly just such a beautiful picture I couldn't bring myself to rag on it ;v;
Bye now!
