Gordy - "Katsuuuuup! *breathes hard from asthma*"
It's Gordy Rhinehart from Angela Anaconda in the style of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, on account of he's now a pony! This little Pegasus is another of Angela's best friends. He is kind, sensitive, sweet, and creative with asthma who prefers pressing flowers, housework, arts and crafts, baking, and writing poetry instead of "dangerous" activities like tag or hide-and-seek. He has a love of ballet and nature and embraces all things pretty and lovely. He is best known for his many allergies. Like Gina Lash, he would serve as the voice of reason and would try to coax Angela from going through any hare-brained scheme she's cooked up, but little to no avail. Gordy is always equipped with an inhaler for his asthma.
Gordy is the complete opposite of his burly and macho ex-royal guard (ex-army soldier) father Coach Rhinehart. Despite being so unalike, their father/son relationship is very strong, and they show genuine love and concern for one another. The coach enjoys the strawberry soufflés, hand-embroidered towels, and pillowcases Gordy makes in his free time. Gordy loves animals and is the proud owner of an immaculately groomed dog named Fabio. He is an expert on pet care and worries about the welfare of any animal entrusted to Angela. Despite his love for nature, he doesn't want to stay outdoors for too long, due to a fear of germs. Gordy is deeply in love with Gina Lash, even though she doesn't seem to reciprocate his feelings.
I enjoyed Gordy in the original Angela Anaconda series, especially with his inhaler. I was even surprised that his voice actor - Eddie Glen - played as Thomas the Tank Engine in Thomas and the Magic Railroad. Recently, since last year, I discovered so much more about Gordy, and saw what a special character he was. Gordy is a feminine boy. As mentioned, he's not too crazy about doing rough and tough, masculine activities. However, like Angela Anaconda, who can have both a masculine and feminine side no problem, Gordy's not so feminine that he can't do sports; he plays ice hockey but also figure-skates, and while he enjoys domestic activities like origami, he'll also do some outdoor stuff like fishing. Unlike typical effeminate characters, Gordy is allowed to have a masculine side and be a more fleshed-out character. He even has a really amazing relationship with his father, even though they are both polar opposites; Gordy is feminine while Coach Rhinehart is macho, but they never work to understand each other as they already do, something that is not seen in standard shows centering family members being opposite. Gordy will participate in usually masculine sports with his father, and Coach Rhinehart appreciated his flower arrangement for the football team in "Saving Private Gordy." Just as Angela has been seen as a gender queer character, so has Gordy. Even though he has a crush on Gina, Joanna Ferrone - one of the creators of the show - discussed in an interview suggested that he might marry Johnny Abatti, indicating that he could be a bisexual. In the end, Gordy turned out to be an incredibly well-rounded character, more so than I thought.

Here's another one of Angela Anaconda's best friends. As I mentioned earlier, Gordy was going to be a challenge, along with the rest of her friends. The real obstacle that almost proved to be an impossibility was his mane, but we'll get to that later. Due to his original counterpart being a spindly boy, his ponysona's perfect model would be Featherweight. Since I used Featherweight as the model for the ponysona of Jimmy from Ed, Edd n Eddy, I already had the premade vector needed. Gordy's coat would be light blue like his shirt. The eye color was a tough one at first, until I looked back on Angela Anaconda, I noticed his eyes were brown in the first episode before they would be greyed over like the rest of Angela's friends' eyes. I also noticed that in Amazzonkane's Angela Anaconda reboot, he was given turquoise eyes instead. I stuck with brown eyes for the old show; maybe when I do an MLP version of the reboot, I change his eye color. I made Gordy a Pegasus since his father would make a great Pegasus, plus since Gordy's an all-loving and inspired character, I could imagine his flying around blissfully. His glasses were designed after Moondancer's. As for his cutie mark, I chose a daisy to reflect his personality and talents. And if you look closely at the leaves, they almost form a heart to reflect Gordy's loving and sweet side.
When it came to his mane - well, actually forelock - I struggled to find any pony, let alone any foal, who had his hairstyle, and turned out unsuccessful. It was painfully obvious I would have to make the style myself. And it was so painfully discouraging, I put it aside, and focused on Johnny Abatti's ponysona instead, even though his mane turned out to be just confoundingly difficult, more than I thought - but that's another story. Once I completed that hardship, I had to face the music and resume with Gordy's coiffure. I experimented some more and tried searching again for the hairstyle done in MLP. Tender Taps actually provided most of the style. After hours, the forelock turned out close to the original hairstyle, though I'm still not sure it's perfect. Since he's a dark blonde, that's the color I gave his mane and tail, if the shading is correct.
Now just one more friend of Angela Anaconda's. I haven't decided yet if Gordy will have projects of his own. We'll see.
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic created by Lauren Faust and owned by Hasbro
Angela Anaconda by Joanna Ferrone and Sue Rose, and produced by C.O.R.E. Digital Pictures and Decode Entertainment
I'm still considering if this is the final design. So, this can't be used.
