Description A Gormley

Just to be clear on this, it is a scan oh a Holga photo using a Polaroid back with Type 85 pos/neg film. The neg part was washed in water from the sea so has become an organic representation of the scene (I like to think).

There is no manipulation or texturing/layers - just straight scan.

Love it. Would look much better in person, too, just so I wouldn't even consider it to be photoshop.

Keep it up!

Andy I love this - it's great to see you doing film stuff!

I wasn't in photography this week (panic attack - horrid) but will be there next week. I want to know how to do this!

Fantastic image and I love the immersing the negative concept within it but I am curious, do you feel that if there had been any Photoshop work done on it that it would invalidate the image and if so why would you feel that way?

Stunning Andy, stunning.

Really nice to look/stare at.

Hey, also, who is this A Gormley guy? I keep seeing single frame cartoons of him in Private Eye magazine, just a silhouette in various random places...

Great! Still can't believe... well, ok, I do believe, but you know how they say... anyway... first thought really was: wonderful photoshop work. That it's "real" (if you can ever say that of a digital representation of anything) makes it so much more... err... great!

Reminds me that late last year I also considered getting the same kind of combination of Holga and a Polaroid back, just realizing I had no idea where to get the latter...
