A commission request at New York Comic Con for Luna dressed as Batman, atop a Daybreaker gargoyle! This was a fun request for a repeat customer that has been very good to us over the years.Grayscale Copic marker on 9x12Β tan paper, with white paint and white and black pencil highlightsΒ

How do you blend the white paint? Is it water-based?

Thank you! It is water based, so I can do a thinner wash for a low-key highlight, or use it fully opaque for pure white. I also use white colored pencils to get a slightly duller white area.Β

Well she kind of does that as a dream walker. I wouldn't be surprised if some pony was having a Bat-Mare themed dream that Luna would get in on the fun.
Wait, I thought Bat-Mare was an earth pony.
Truth be told, I'm Bat-Mare, but to keep my identity a secret, we made the comic character an earth pony to throw everyone off.

Daybreaker as a gargoyle looks genuinly terrifying! It's like something that popped straight out of Bram Stroker's Dracula movie.
Also Luna as Batman(or Batmare) looks awesome! I guess Tiberius would be Robin the Opossum wonder.
