Description
I have raised your moon for three hundred and sixty-five thousand nights...The night before the one thousandth anniversary of the annual Summer Sun Celebration, Celestia gazed beyond, to her younger sister's moon, and is ever reminded of the irreparable regret, and the crushing sorrow of the night she sealed Nightmare Moon away...
This was inspired by a combination of "Between the Sun and Moon" by Killryde, and "Luna" by Eurobeat Brony (the Alex S Remix).

An immortals regret to look up at the night sky and see the reminder of the choose celestia had to make, each time wishing that there had been some other way. To be without your sibling is a loneliness that is only equaled by the idea that after so long they may still hate you.

Very True. But i beleave in my heart that Equestrian alicorns are at their cores eternal optimists. thats no to say they don't get sad. but givin the fact that Celestia has seen all the little ponies she loves grow old and die as she lives on, and that she doesn't just hide in a cave to try to escape that feeling of loss. that makes me beleave that she and luna are able to truly beleave in the good of tomarrow.
Heck that might be one of the reasons for Luna's transformation, she temporarily lost her optimism. because if you can't see to good in tomarrow, why should there be a tomarrow. why not just block out the sun and let the world freeze?

immortality if nothing else is to be alone. if an immortal meet a normal person that individual would perish within a century resulting in the immortal remaining alone.
indeed Celestia has not completely cut herself off from herΒ people, numerous events haveΒ had her in attendants or even the guest of honor.

As i said, being an eternal optimist doesn't mean they don't get sad and the banishment of her sister and the eventual ans past deaths of her little ponies have to be/have been too of the worst things for Celestia. but she is still able to find the small joys in each day.
The eternal optimism points are, in my opinion, best explored in Reality Check's Nyx spin-off stories and the Lunaverse alternate universe stories. all can be found on Fimfiction.

Amazing! This is so beautiful, and captures a side of Celestia never seen in the cartoon, but one the fan community loves greatly. Fantastic job! I think this will be my laptop background for a while.
