I also like her: she fight for her dreams, plans and love. She chose own path and became a legend for proving that anything is possible if we really try. Luthien made a tough choice as the strong independent woman not only another beautiful lady, doing nothing but marrying high born man. This is why Luthien, Aredhel and Galadriel are my favorite elven ladies. Beren is such a lucky guy!
