ANYWAYS! So, this insn't actually me just giving Canada a different bear. NO! THIS IS A HISTORY LESSON!

So Winnie the Pooh, a beloved anthropomorphic bear made famous by the stories of English author A.A Milne, actually has dual citizenship.
...That is a very weird, abstract way of saying that the real bear that Winnie the Pooh is based on a Canadian black bear, that Canadian Lieutenant Harry Colebourn bought from a hunter on his way to fight in WWI. He brought the bear to England, and named it Winnie after his hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The bear was put in a zoo, where A.A Milnes saw it.

So there you are! That's why we have Matthew and Pooh here, because I assume Pooh still loves Matthew for helping him find such a good new owner.
