I really don't have one... just lots of practice. Studying other artists and the way they put things together and where they tend to place things. Also studying real animals, photographs. haha

Your art is so inspiringgggg, but when I have motivation, I have no ideas. And when I have ideas, I have no motivation! And when I have ideas AND motivation, I have no appreciation for myself and my art! |D *chronic art block*

bahaha I deal with the same thing frequently. You look through this awesome artist's gallery, get inspired, go to draw something and it looks like crap. Or you go to draw something and you have no idea what to draw. One thing that kind of helped me was to not expect anything of my pictures, and to just DRAW. Whatever came to my head I'd draw it, whether it was my character, someone else's, my cat, a landscape, a bottle of windex idk. When I draw just to doodle, there's less pressure on me, and those are usually the times I end up really liking something I draw. Another thing is not to compare yourself to other artists. Use them as inspiration, motivation, but nothing more.
