What hard way ? Choosing darker colours for every colour? (thats a techniqe) If you're using sai I can teach you the ''easy way''. ^0^

You can just shade it from a different layer and than make it multiply.

Use blender tool to smooth the lines than you don't has to shade 5 times with darker colours. x3
