Hase likes birds, they don't smash his face into lockers when they have a bad day. Or stab him with the fire iron. Or crush his fingers with rocks, or anything terrible like that really. Poor kid.Messing around with paper sure is fun~ Bird originally started off as a barn swallow but look at how much blue there is already!

Oh goshdurn, Jo, I keep forgetting you are an artistic jack-of-all-trades. Animation, digital art, traditional works, sequential art, music- and I bet you there is more I haven't found out about yet.
I love the lower part of this collage - the vines and rocky hillside especially. Is it strange to say they have a lot of personality? Because that's the feeling I get from them. Personality. Yes. Yes I just wrote vines and rocks have personalities. and it isn't even that late in the night
Those aside, Hase himself is just- just adorable. Broken fingers? Stabbing? Smashing? What the hell is going on to this poor kid? At least that bird doesn't seem to want to harm him. Yet. ;_;
Do you paint all those texture (like on the vines and bushes) on your own or do you use papers with printed designs on them? They looks gorgeous either way and I am as usual in awe of your creativity. <3

Aww Alex thank you, that really means a lot! Colors are something I've been struggling with for years so knowing somebody actually likes them just brightens my day like a teeth whitening strip.
And yes that process is usually the gist of it. I make some paper copies of the original sketch and then cut out stencils from said copies. It then goes all over different kinds of paper and usually apply some paint and/or markers to tone the suckers. And because I'm weird and inefficient, I like to make the stuff in the foreground on thicker pieces of paper or cardboard or layer it up so it stands out more and as you get further into the background, the paper gets thinner and thinner. Wasn't quite as anal retentive about it this time though, because what is attention span? xDD
