People gave much importance to their Sunday best then . They had quality clothes they only wore on Sunday morning to go to church. One of my great great grand uncles would walk bare-footed till he reached the church and then put his shoes on .

Thats amazing! I take care of older people for a living and have come across some pretty interesting stories about history and perspective. Your great great uncle must have really respected the church!

Thankfully only for women's clothing.
The 18th Century is perhaps one of my favorite periods in history, but I'm glad men don't have to dress in lace and such anymore.
