It's actually quite neat to see this. I am entirely new to Fire Emblem, and while for the most part it's tame there's a lot going on that raises my eyebrows, Tharja being the biggest example (or dark mages in general). I don't know why it's so hard to just make a character, particularly a female one, and just make it practical or more so... You know.
Also I love your style and art in general so Imma watch thee.

Sorry for double posting, but there's just so much brain-fart in that last post.
To rephrase it, it is refreshing to see a design that is completely practical (more armour, more ambiguous). It aggravates me that the girl characters in Awakening typically wear a little less armour for whatever reason. Take Lon'Qu and Say'Ri for instance: Lon'Qu is not wearing armour, sure, but he's about speed and evasion than taking hits. Say'ri is similar, but I find it odd she doesn't wear pants or anything. Wouldn't you want your legs to have at least something in the instance of weather/gravel/pavement or whatever? And Tharja I find is worse. Sure, dark mages don't wear much in general, but it's still impractical since they're about defence. There are some instances that are alright, like Anna (evasion instead of combat), but then... sometimes not.
(I also think Tharja could've been creepy and melancholy as opposed to someone who is somehow attractive or whatever, seeing as how she's commonplace on google images. But that's just me).
Fantastic artwork regardless! Back on topic, Cordelia looks a lot cooler here. It makes a lot more sense to tie up your hair as opposed to having it all flowy... It'd get in your face, and being a unit meant to charge into combat, it seems, well impractical.

Yeah, it is rather nonsensical that they don't at least wear pants, since they're riding horses and that would make riding with a saddle uncomfortable. The cold definitely seems like it'd be a real issue since the pegasi seem to originate from icy regions like Ilia.

The only justification I can think of (apart from Roy Mustang being the founder of the pegasus knights) is that they use their legs, thighs more specifically, to guide their pegasi. Their hands need to be free for weapons, after all.
So maybe having bare skin helps to have a better contact with your mount?

Thanks. Well, the reason I wanted to draw the design was because it looked more practical and didn't show her off unnecessarily, so maybe the point still stands?
I generally choose not to alter clothing designs for the sake of being true to the source, but I do wish there were more sensible ones in the games themselves. Fire Emblem is usually decent about this, particularly the Tellius games, but FE13 took a huge step backward in that regard out of its desire to do everything it could to recruit new fans... hence a load of fanservicy costumes and innuendo-laden supports, making it ever harder to keep the balance of wanting to make characters look nice and yet not wanting to attract people's attention just for how they're dressed, heh.

Gosh, I love this! Yeah, it would be more realistic to have her hair up huh. Very nice coloring and inclusion of the lines for dynamic effect! I love the shading on the pegasus's head too. Great job!

Yeah, I'd actually never thought about it before, but I hardly ever see characters with hair buns even though they probably are one of the most practical solutions to having long hair in combat. It was fun drawing one that did.

You're right, she does--I forgot about her; hardly anyone seems to draw side characters. And yeah, that does seem to be the law of entertainment in general.
I'm just glad the costumes in FE usually do look good, at least. (I'm currently following a certain game where they're promising around 80 alternate outfit options for the main character and there hasn't been a single one so far that doesn't just look bizarre and drab-colored.

Yes, and a lot of fancy armor and details--it's a bit jarring getting into a series like this after being in fandoms for games that use much simpler art styles, haha.
(Haha, it is a lot, but the vast majority of the ones revealed so far unfortunately look pretty ugly to me. xD; Supposedly there's some degree of color customization though, which makes me hope that whoever picked the default colors just had terrible sense and we'll have more options. The game is Lightning Returns of the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy... Final Fantasy has never been known for having sensible outfits, but sometimes it embarrasses me that I love a few characters in the series enough to play all the sequels. xD; )
