Description
Mission: Space at Epcot. Quite a great ride, and both versions are pretty intense. Ride the Green team and you'll get a great simulator and perhaps a bit dizzy and nauseous. Ride the Orange side and you'll get your ass blasted off to Mars just like real astronauts train.
They put little barf bags in this ride. Thank god! You should see the warnings....If you are not in the utmost perfect shape, you shouldn't even be within 400 feet of this attraction.

Really cool pic! I've heard that ride is intense... ; . ; I kinda want to go on it . But who knows when i'll ever get to Florida xD. Soarin at California Adventure can get some long lines but they arn't that long. Only line in the park that i've been in that was pretty long was for Tower of Terror and the Fastpass line for World of Color. :3

There's a "less intense" side, but it's still pretty intense.
Soarin' can get crazy lines at Epcot, even in the off season.

I love the ride, although at Epcot if I had to pick I'd go Soarin', then Test Track, then Mission Space.

Oh yeah, I think we went on Soarin' at least four times last trip. We either fast pass it or go during the after hours for the hotel guests time. It can get scary lines. Yeek.
Test Track is scary? It's my dad's favorite Disney Ride. And that's saying something, because he's rather meh about most of them.

Dad's not brave. He won't ride Twilight or Rock n Roller coaster. He only likes gigantic wooden coasters; for some reason, he doesn't like metal ones. Everest kicked both my parents in the arse.

If you do get over, ride it later in the day. It builds big lines in the morning but they get shorter as the day goes on.

The list is very long about who shouldn't ride. It can really mess you up if you have heart problems or are in risk of a stroke. At least two people have died on it already, which is why they started running at least one of the centrifuges without the spinning, so more people could ride without being in danger of very real death.

Ive been on it before and it took all the energy out of me! (And thats when I was 100% healthy!) I had to go back to the resort and sleep for like an hour. That ride is so crazy.

i heard it's kinda like that Gravitron ride that you see county fairs and stuff... the one that spins you until you are stuck to the wall. *shudder*

Yes, it is like that ride. Except while you spin the car also tips up and down, shakes, twists, and such to match the movie.

Oh yes. They are a necessity on this ride. It really is the same machine they use to train real astronauts. Basically, it's a giant centrifuge where the cars also move up and down, twist side to side, and vibrate. The easy version doesn't spin, but the cars still tilt and twist and vibrate. If I hadn't ridden the spinning version first I would have thought the tame version was one hell of a wicked ride. Not for the faint of heart, this one.

Funny thing, first time I rode it, I was fine. By the second and third times, I got sick to my stomach....

We found that by chewing a tums right before you get on, you can seriously cut down on the nausea. And you shouldn't ride on a completely empty stomach either. A pretzel twenty minutes before riding always works wonders for me.

Course, not three times in a row - inbetween years.
I think it's the lack of air in the ride. For some reason, if I don't have air on my face in cramped locations, I get sick, easily - especially if its warm air. It was good to go on for the experience, but I didn't find it fun.

That is one of the warning - if you're made uncomfortable by enclosed spaces, not to ride.
I know a lot of people who've ridden it once just to say they have, and never plan to ride ever ever again. It's one of those love it or hate it rides, that's for sure

Close spaces don't bother me; I really think it was the lack of air.
