iv not hardly been online for the past week, but i havnt seen you signed in to im for a long time. but i usualy dont sign in till quite late myself.... after midnight at least.

The weather around here has been really freaky temp-wise.
I've not been doing anything really exciting. Looking for a new dog, a small one this time. Tired of dogs that take me for a walk!

This year Winter was 2 months late, and it snowed in February, which was OK. But Snow in APRIL? Even though Chicago weather can get goofy this time of year, this is the strangest it's been in a long time. Now at the end of April, it is in the 80s (today hit 90) which isn't supposed to happen until June at least!
Thank you Global Warming!

I think everyone is a bit weirded out by the weather....we're supposed to get snow tomorrow!!! And I'm in the SOUTH! lol.
Uh..isn't Chicago the "Windy City"? This reminds me of a great gust of wind blowing......very cool spiral!!!

I'm a bit worried, to be honest. We're getting snow now....it's not sticking, but still.....it's too late in the season for snow in the valley.

These "late in the season" snows are getting to everyone. I know that we were astounded...it is usually in the 70s in April around here. Weather just isn't right, even for an el nino timeframe.

Yeah, they are. I never know what to wear...never know what the temps are going to be like. Freezing one day, rainy the next, warm the next...then back to freezing again. It's crazy.

I have gotten to the point where I leave the house in the morning wearing layers. Strip and add all day long. Was almost 80 yesterday and today the high was 55! a 21 degree drop at least.

It's getting better here. At least it is finally acting like Spring. I was talking to one of my clients and he said that a Spring like this happens about every 15 years. At least around here. I don't remember it, but then again I'm one of those people to whom weather means little in the long run. Just deal with it as it comes. Like when people talk about one of our big snow years...I remember the snow but not the year.

You're in Chicago? One of my favorite cities. I hope you spend lots of time at the Art Institute! And say Hello to Sue for me at the Field Museum.
When we moved there when I was 4, we thought we had moved to a wonderful warm climate - after all we had been living in ND! It's all in perspective I guess, as I never thought of Chicago as particualrly cold all those years ago. Of course now, I live at the beach and think it's cold when it gets below 70.
Great use of letting your real life experinces affect your fractal art. I originally saw waves, but now I see that is just the wind in the Windy City blowing the snow and flowers together!

I originally lived in Lake Bluff, last town on the North Shore. Our shoreline could get very wild this time of year. Funny you should mention the museums there Field was our favorite, went there at least once a year, often 2 or 3 times. I took art classes just off Michigan and often went to the Art Museum after class was over. Loved the museum of Science and Industry too. Brookfield was our favorite zoo, though I want to Lincoln Park with my parent when I was little. The only reason we ever went into the city was for concerts, operas, museums and of course the zoo. My mother loved to shop there, but I'm no shopper, so that part never appealed to me.
Now that I've moved to Central Illinois, I never get up to the city proper. Just go up to my old stompin' grounds!

Very nice. Nice design, and the muted background allows the green to really pop. Good job!

These are the colors of childhood. I lived north of Chicago a block from Lake Michigan, and haunted her beaches when growing up. Even took my children back there to raise so they would know the beauty of this lake.

Chicago is living up to its reputation! If you don't like the weather now, stick around for a few minutes! I think that, for the first time since I moved out of the area, I'm glad I'm not there! It's cold here but the snow didn't build up. In fact today is quite sunny!

Wish I could send our jump up to you. We had tornado sirens going off, rain and hail falling tonight......and it's in the high 70s during the day. I guess it's either one or the other.....freeze or burn.

Oh yes!!! Send us some heat! It is sunshiny outside but the temperatures are only slowly limping into the 50s. Should be in the 70s this time of year.
