Description
Another commission to colour some Tim Vigil lines, this time for the cover of a Faust book for Rebel Studios. Background's a bit ropey I know, but I was asked to keep it really simple with some lightning strikes. I do have to work on better space-filling backgrounds. Quite like how that gravestone looks tho.Lines by Tim Vigil :

Yeah, the gravestone's definitely my favourite bit of this. I originally had a fair bit more overlay toning on top of the lines, so I was a bit happier with how the figure itself worked, but the artist asked me to lose the overlays. Customer's always right! And the lines just had some faintly-sketched lightning bolts in the BG, so that's all I was asked to do. I've never tried drawing/painting big lightning strikes from scratch before tho, and I kinda think it shows.

Hehe - aye, he does kinda have that look about him. But no, Faust is an indy character who's been kicking about since the 80's. I don't really know much about the character myself, but you can read a bit about him on wiki [link]

Well, the background was what was asked for, but I think I could have sold it a bit better. Went over well enough with the artist and th client tho, so that'll do for now! ^_^
