if i were to give advice, it'd be mostly to explore. i like the hair and the shading in the rest, but i think it would be affective to your search for a comfort-zone, to explore different ways to shade. different ways to color and shade hair. i think i'll bring my laptop next drink and draw, if it helps. i don't feel i'm much help just talking about what i mean.

It would be a shame to trouble you to bring your laptop. Them thangs are heavy. This is related to our hanging in the day time issue.

I totally dig the way you did the hair... I really like it- if you wanted to make it pop even more, you could add another layer on top w/ harder, whiter highlights! If that's what you're going for, I might just be a sucker for super shiny hair, haha...
I like the skin, too, and I like the colors you chose, but I think the problem lies in that there should be more difference b/w the hardness of the cast shadows & the form shadows (cast shadows being caused by an object, hair, sleeve, etc, directly blocking the light from another object :: form shadows being caused by the form of an object slowly turning away from the light... her cheek, planes of her hand, etc). Your shading is soft, and good for cast shadows, but I think the form shadows should much less contrast-y, and even softer. Like... b/c you're using a soft shader, and all the shadow areas have the *same* size feathering, you lose some of that depth, and it's also harder to tell where or if there is a light source b/c it's hard to distinguish which are the cast shadows~ Does that help at all? >_o;;;; I don't normally do soft shading myself, so I'm no expert @ it, but I THINK this's how it works...? (Lol animation majors... illustrationFAIL)
ILU! I'm glad you posted this, I missed your colors! They're always so deep and rich~~~ *w* ♥
