I like this piece as well. This is Melanie, whom (or is it who?) I haven't drawn in a while. I posted this yesterday, but DA removed it, probably because the moderators saw that it was incomplete and thus in the wrong section. Buh. So since yesterday, I've added to the tree, thus completing the picture as far as I intend to in the sketch phase. THIS IS COMPLETE and may be EDITED if I later decide to color it. I'm still in the midst of deciding whether I should change her from a bear to a squirrel. That would change a bit of her background, however, so I doubt anything's going to happen regarding her species.--

i'd really like to be able to do that... have the body just sit naturally in a picture...
as to her being a squirrel... well, if you feel up to it... y'know --- that means tails... and i find tails are an ev-vil thing... they just tend to have a mind of there own... never listening to the artist *sigh* ahswell.
anyways, lovely sketch... i'd love to see more of it in your complete fashion X3

You can do it, I'm sure! Practice... well, you know how the saying goes. Yes, tails are evil, especially big fluffy ones that consume the animal. Thank you! I'm surprised you're interested in seeing my fashions. These days I tend to just throw folks in a pair of jeans and call it a drawing.

she's pretty
her calves seem just a bit short. Only by a bit though, maybe that's the way she is, I don't know.
I like the way she sits there... what is she gonna be if not a squirrel? °-°

Aw, thanks. Hmm... Maybe her calves are to short. I placed so much emphasis on the feet because I usually have a hard time drawing them.

You know..if I had drawn this,I couldn't possibly resist to draw lines that indicate how the water flows - and also how her foot blurs because it's in the water ^^
Also,consider drawing a bark for the tree.

If you decide to turn her into a squirrel,pay close attention to the fur pattern,the addiction to hazelnuts and of course the evil tail.
Squirrel tails are pure evil,my dear..believe me,they are!
I'm not sure whether you should give her such squirrel teeth as well o_o;;; you know,they'd make her look either too cute or stupid..if you ask me.

I swear, I may have just made it up, but the cutesy little flowers that just pop out of the ground exist! The stems are underground.
Yes, yes, if you'd drawn this, it'd be so much better. But remember, that Asia is not as skilled as you are. As far as the blurring of her foot in the water and the bark of the tree, that kind of stuff I'd usually leave to Photoshop, assuming I'd color this. I'm just not cut out to draw it by hand. I wouldn't know where to begin.
I decided against making her a squirrel. It conflicts too much with her history, and as you mentioned the teeth and tail, those traits would be very much of a nuiscance to draw. RAWR.
Just try it, you know? You don't even have to give the character a name. Get to know him/her first, and the name will come to you, eventually.
