This picture doesn't come together for me. The tree, the figure the boat the moon all not integrated. The ship-head is a nice mix of on the water/on the figure. The dark color seems to work fine.

Well they are clearly related, and the blending seems okay, the space between the objects seems similar, giving the picture a spotty feel, like nothing overlaps. Seems like the tree (or something) might be over the moon to force it into the background. Like everything is on the same plane. Does that make more sense?
